Optimistic vs Realistic Expectations

Anyone paying attention to the Steelers situation with TJ Watt. I am starting to see more articles that Steelers are considering trading him.

Yea exactly. The Bills are so good at home. They might lose one or two. I doubt they lose more than that at home. And they could go unbeaten on the road

They won't go unbeaten on the road. As good as the Bills are they seem to always have "THAT GAME" where they drop one they shouldn't. You can laugh but I think the week 2 game at MetLife will be a tough one. The Jets always get up for the Bills. While the Bills have kicked their ass in OP lately the games at MetLife have been tough. Lost twice to Zach Wilson and in last year's 23-20 win the Jets missed 2 FG's and an extra point.

Again CIN is weird because Burrow and the offense is elite, but the defense was so bad (and this hasn't been a banner offseason of improvement) that it weighs down what they do. It is a quasi Manning Colts situation there, except IND at least spend real money and resources whereas CIN is fighting with their best pass rusher and their 1st round pick who also is a talented rusher over contract language sooo yeaaaa

It’s not wrong at all. I just didn’t think there will be that much difference of opinion and I don't think there has been. I have the same opinion, this team could win the Super Bowl but realistically we should easily win the division and a playoff game or two; which is still a good year.

I have found things to be better when you just enjoy one game at a time and see what happens.

Realistic = It will be a tough season. We will make the playoffs but I don't see us as a "tight", tuned football team compared to Baltimore, KC, Denver. Even the Steelers could turn out to be a tough team. We are gonna be in the mix but I just don't see us getting to the SB.

Some media reports are saying the Steelers are considering trading TJ Watt. If that happens (I don't think it will) then they are toast.

That is where I am. Probably the best roster overall they have had since Josh and the schedule is favorable even with some tough home matchups. KC is not as good while still scary and the AFC North is tough as hell even if BAL is a beast.

Optimistic and Realistic are the same in this case and is a Super Bowl victory.

The 2022 team was easily the best roster of the Josh Allen era.  That team had an elite QB, pass rusher, WR, and Safeties.  2025 should have a much better OL that team, but I don’t see them being elite anywhere else other than QB.

"Easily" is very disputable - especially since I agree w/ the post you were responding to about this year's team.  

 

But "pass rusher" intrigued me.  Who are you referring to?

Yea I don't think Von was elite by the time he got to the Bills in 2022. But he was still really good until the ACL.

I don't think the Bills have a proven elite player on the OL - though if Brown can repeat 2024 maybe, but as a unit they were top 5 last year and health allowing can be again.
