dhg Posted June 17 Posted June 17 Anyone ever make one? Have some leftover wood and time on my hands. Have a plan of sorts, but figured I'd reach out. Pretty sure the wood is maple. Got it from a guy that lives by Lewiston that owns a sawmill. Thanks. Go Bills 2 Quote
US Egg Posted June 18 Posted June 18 Nice to see someone wanting to craft something they could just buy with a tap of their finger…. …..with that, I got nothing. 1 1 Quote
rusty shackleford Posted June 18 Posted June 18 I’ve made charcuterie boards in the sense of cutting up assorted meats, cheeses, and olives and displaying them on a serving dish. I also did some high school wood shop projects to made decorative cutting boards, but I’ve never combined the two. 1 Quote

Go Bills You’ll need a jointer, planer, clamps, wood glue, orbital sander (80, 120 and 220 grit discs), food grade oil. I’d suggest finding some pieces of cherry or oak to give it some character/color. 3 1 Quote

Fleezoid Posted June 18 Posted June 18 I usually make mine with meats, cheeses, and fruit. Although maple might make for a nice, sweet addition. 1 Quote
Augie Posted June 18 Posted June 18 So, woodworking, not food. I’m usually all over the food stuff. We have friends who have a daughter really into the food part in a big way with amazing presentations. She taught my wife some stuff, then they gave her this super cool board. It’s got shelves that pull out and expose your various knives, etc. I didn’t know it could get that elaborate! Good luck! 1 Quote
