If you weren’t being antagonistic then you have my apologies. It wouldn’t  shock me if a group of some kind took advantage of the circumstances after it was under way. Both sides have some crazies and the US isn’t short on enemies. I don’t think it was initially coordinated in what we saw and that was primarily what my reaction was based on. My intentions also weren’t to lecture you. I’m stunned how different SoCal is to anywhere else I have been. It’s not liberals or even the weather, it’s the mix of people here.

while today the Marines gave not engaged, it is the precedence that they can be used without checks and balances which is dangerous. Amazing trump didn't use troops Jan 6 because they were not asked for by Pelosi, but he does now even with leaders actually saying no. 

Do you really want 1 person to have that ability. Even in 1940s Roosevelt didn't have that power to use troops to round up Japanese and Germans for interment. His power was limited by the constitution and congress....exactly the same constitution.

What we want is a civilized and free society and those animals in the street in L.A. are not civilized. And they're infringing on the rights and freedoms of others by breaking the law. So how would you handle it? Let them burn down and loot all the properties and businesses they'd like? That seems to be the strategy of the Governor and Mayor. Riot and break into Federal facilities and free criminal illegals? Attack and injury immigration enforcement personnel carrying out their duties? I'm not saying Trump is handling the problem with perfections but polling suggests most Americans want this crap stopped.

 

So what do you think? Do you agree that people that circumvent customs and border checkpoints or lie to customs officials are breaking the law? That people with violent criminal records should not be let into the country? And identifying them and deporting them is in compliance with the law?

In fairness, the overwhelming majority are not violent. 

 

I certainly think we need clear laws in place and clear enforcement in place. My brother has been with ICE for almost 20 years so we talk about this stuff a lot. But at the end of the day no immigrant has ever directly impacted me. If 100% of them were deported tomorrow absolutely zero things in my life would change. I wouldn't even be aware it happened. We can talk about how they don't pay into taxes, how my tax money pays for them in many instances, how they access our health care and education and all that stuff but still, never directly felt one thing. I severely doubt many here have and if so I would love to hear how that occurred. 

 

My tax money has been wasted on so much crap that will never be real to me I hardly can point to them and say, now that is it. That is the straw that just broke the camels back. That Mexican guy who doesn't speak English and wants to work on a farm for $6 an hour.  Hell, he's probably contributing to a cheaper avocado and I eat a lot of those. So maybe it's a break even.

Your exaggeration is amazing.

Yes Biden was useless and created this migrant situation. Yes some dangerous people need to be arrested and deported. Yes gangs are dangerous. Many of the people grabbed up are not dangerous, are worthy of being considered for citizens and should be dealt with in a civilized manner.

Yes we want civilized society, but this is not a free society that trump represents. 

Would I want free passage from US to Canada...Yes. we were heading that way 20 years ago. 

I crossed for pleasure (Bills season ticket holder), for business meetings for more than 30 years to our US offices, without 1 incident. Then the US demanded Canada share information on Canadian citizens, records, addresses, travel history. The US NEVER shared the same info to this date.

So things changed. I was constantly pulled over entering US going to a Bills game on early Sunday morning. Couldn't take certain foods, even questioned about propane tank, my 10 year old son was questioned about why we always crossed border on Sundays (Yes Sunday game days). 

Now a Canadian with a major driving offense when they were 20 yrs old prevents them from entering US. A Canadian who hit a little trouble at 18 cannot enter US. 

Inter business transfers of employees from US to Canada and Canada to US happened regularly, then the US decided this had to change...and did it ever.

Certainly there were changes after 9 11, but the threat wasn't from Canada. Hell, the US allowed those guys, non citizens to take pilot training without any clearance, but I got detained going to a tail gate at a Bills game. 

It went from free and easy access to having your prez threaten Canada over the past few years. We are having protests about allowing a convicted felon to enter Canada for the G7.

 

It will never go back.

The pendulum has swung so far that military is being readied to use against your citizens, freedoms of citizens are being trampled because all dictators trample decent. 

This is about Newsom, because Abbott in Texas would have to ask for help before National Guard would be used. You know it. 

Don't point fingers at the democrats, they are dangerous, but not dangerous to democracy.
