When I read "effort problems", "free me" malcontent posts, and consider his previously torn ACL with what is now likely 4.5 speed, I'd prefer to use that 2nd elsewhere. Bills need to draft a platoon of players to fix their roster and cap situation and Pickens doesn’t rate a 2nd to me.

Don’t forget who is making that 2nd round pick.

Like the Rams going out and getting DeVante Adams when they already had Nacua.

I don't question Pickens's talent.  I do question how he'd gel with McDermott.

Perhaps that is a McDermott problem. No coincidence Pickens didn't gel with Tomlin either. Are there two more similar coaches in philosophy, demeaner and path traveled to the NFL than Tomlin and McDermott?

If you are a dysfunctional franchise like the Browns or Jets you should be doing everything in your power to trade for McDermott or Tomlin. But these guys don't seem to be able to get to the next step once that franchise is built up from the bottom of the heap.

Hopefully the same anonymous guy who hits on the late round picks.

And this version of Pickens is playing opposite CeeDee Lamb which we don't have. So is Pickens really going to put up same numbers here? I doubt it. Toss in he'd still be in a rotation here cuz it's our philosophy/scheme to not focus on one guy but instead find the open guy vs keep feeding one guy.

Look at Philly as an example, AJ Brown been an alpha there the last few years but this year they elected to share the wealth as it were an AJ stats aren't where they've been in years past.

…and Phily’s offense is the worst it has been.

If your philosophy is to share the wealth between Josh Palmer and George Pickens, your philosophy sucks. The Cowboys won a game, against a red hot Eagles team (despite their offensive struggles), because they consistently threw the ball to the best player on the field. He “out-talented” a loaded Eagles defense. They didn’t win with scheme or sharing the wealth. They stole a game because he was better than other guys. These Bills teams have consistently lost in the biggest moments because they didn’t have that guy. When they did, he dropped it. Why wouldn’t you want that?!? 🤣

I'm just now reading on NBC Sports that the Cowboys are likely to franchise Pickens.

Good luck with that.  George isn't playing a snap without a deal.  He's earned it.

They will pay him.

There was legit concern about Pickens mental side of things. I would have loved to trade for him but this also was not the slam dunk obvious signing either it was a gamble and it paid off

No, not a sure thing.  But exactly the type of gamble Beane never takes to try to help Josh Allen.  We’re talking a 3rd round pick FFS
