McDermott needs a end of game coordinator

Also hire a beginning of the game coordinator and a middle of the game coordinator.

 

He should be all set.

Is he? Every time the Bills play a team with a good QB with a good offense his defense gets exposed. Mahomes and Burrow look at his kindergarten level defensive scheme and laugh at it.

his game management sucks, he doesn’t make any adjustments until half time, he’s always a deer in the headlights, the first couple of drives the other teams offence marches down the field with ease, bend but don’t break, etc…

 

What is his purpose at that point??

 

I’ve said for years, McD will not win this team a SB.

 

perhaps another team in 10-15 years, but not the present Buffalo Bills.

I mean... he's a defensive coach and the adjustments that were made resulted in 3 punts and 2 takeaways.  During the 5 possessions buffalo had after that they scored 10 points.  I'd put the onus more on brady and allen in that regard.

Collins getting injured and not returning to the game helped the Bills defense big time.

McDermott has his flaws but if he were to get fired, he would have multiple teams interviewing him for a HC job.

 

My biggest issue with him, he gets too aggressive on defense late in games.  No need to send the house on 3rd and long....he does that way too much.

there is this misconception that a head coach’s main role is that game management. It’s not. He is the CEO. He runs the team and gets them ready during the week and manages the coaches.

 

On game day, why not have someone that is strictly an operations specialist? That is the person that recommends or makes the challenge calls, timeout calls, and provides insight into end of game strategy.

BB's greatest skill was not his in game management per se but his patience in waiting for your garden variety Moron NFL HC to blink, crumble and make a really bad decision (ie McD style) that would gift him the victory.
