What I said was that not resigning Hollins would be the straw that broke the camels back, "IF and it's still a big IF, the Bills fall apart and miss he playoffs".  And I believe this and am not backing away one inch.  If you want to play GOTCHA go ahead and have at it but at least use the entire sentence I posted to complain about whether or not I should have said "could" instead of "would".

As in your earlier posts about Joe Brady, you have a tendency to use vague language and then change the meaning to suit the moment.

 

It takes the form of "that's not what I meant."

From the sounds of it, they made Hollins an offer and it was Hollins's choice to head to New England. 

 

Maybe Hollins and his representative told the Bills the offer the Patriots made and Beane passed. Maybe Hollins got the offer and jumped on it. But no one can force a guy to stay if he wants to go. 

Maybe Hollins thought the Pats were on a different trajectory than the Bills.

It's not soberness it's over valuing the greatness of times gone by. Everybody remembers Doug Flutie at times in 1998 but everyone wants to forget how bad he was in parts of 1998 and most of 1999.

Andree reed played 16 games a season for Buffalo, Diggs played 17 (except for 2020). That's like saying every running back that has more yards then OJ or Earl Campbell is better then they were.

 

Andree reed was also slot receiver who made his money going across the middle in an age were he knew he would be murdered as soon as he caught the ball. No "defenseless receiver" rules back then. 

 

For ***** and giggles I googled "Best Buffalo Bills wide receivers of all time" and "greatest Buffalo Bills wide receivers of all time" You seem to be the only one in the world that ranks Diggs first. In fact Diggs shows up 3rd or 4th on most lists, not even second.

 

Reed is in the hall of fame. Its a coin toss if Diggs will ever make it there.

Only 16 games in 2022 due to Damar too

 

Diggs averaged more yards per game and a higher percentage of his qbs yards than Reed did. Reed was very good and had great longevity but I agree with Bull, Diggs was better just brief.

It's difficult comparing receiving stats from the modern era versus what teams were doing back in the 80s and 90s when Reed played. The passing game is far more prominent and sophisticated these days, and the rules have been changed quite a bit to help the passing game.

 

But you point is well taken: when Diggs' heart was int it, he was one of the best receivers this organization ever had.

I’d take Moulds all day over Diggs.  Elbert Domenion probably too. He averaged 27 yards a catch in 1964! 42 catches, 1139 yards, 10 TDs in a 14 game season
