DrDawkinstein
HUGE get for a floundering program. The Longhorn boosters mustve stepped in bigly with NIL deals. I'm actually pretty surprised/baffled by this.
Bill from NYC
Not sure how much they are "floundering." I don't know, maybe they are but I saw what Sarkisian did at Alabama and he really did a tremendous job. If I recall, he was even very helpful in recruiting Bryce Young. I have missed on many QBs (not Josh Allen lol) so I am probably dead wrong, but; I fail to see anything special in Manning. In fact, I did not want the Tide to sign him. They already have 3 qbs who I consider very solid. The kid that I am really interested in is Ryan Downes at IMG because there is a slight family connection. The kid is huge and brilliant. He is an incoming sophmore and I'm really looking forward to see what he can do.
Mr. WEO
Guess Manning figures he’ll make a lot more money at Texas than the NFL, so, why not?
US Egg
With what is clearly an annual majority migration of top college prospects to the SEC, them pulling a sort of LIV golf maneuver on the NCAA and splinter off to reap more of their own rewards must be alluring to them, as they could easily stand on their own with their soon to be 16 teams. He lit up his wallet by reclassifying so he could be eligible for NIL, but got to Columbus way too late - Mid august, then got covid, went home for awhile, etc - to have an opportunity to play any meaningful snaps on 2021. Then he knew he wasn’t unseating Stroud this year so he left.

Sark was a dud last year--his season included a loss to the Kansas (1-8) Mens basketball team (56-57)...at home. Herman (another Broyles Award winner) had 4 Bowl wins in 4 seasons---and they fired him.

Absurd WR talent and a pro style, pass heavy offense at Ohio State plus a former NFL QB coach at HC I don’t know much about Texas’s WRs but they should be recruiting well given the talent in that state and Sark throws the ball a lot too Edited June 28, 2022 by YoloinOhio

He has one QB who played in his system who had been the NFL for one season (Fields). He was Haskins Qb coach and Burrow’s QB coach for 2 years but it was Urban’s offense and burrow didn’t play any significant time in it. sark just got to Texas last year so can’t hold Herman’s recruiting failures against him, but if he doesn’t hit it out of the park with all that talent In Texas he will be gone too. Especially since he’s going to be in the SEC soon. Edited June 28, 2022 by YoloinOhio

The expectations for programs like that are no more than 1 loss per year, conference championships, beat the rival, recruit best talent in-state and nationally, and challenge for national titles. He didn’t do any of that, other than maybe beating Oklahoma at some point. I’ve always thought he was a good OC. But he’s not well thought of as an HC and he’s now as “offensive analyst” for the Bears. Edited June 30, 2022 by YoloinOhio

Herman was the only bright spot for that program for all those years. It's a program that exited the national championship discussion a while ago. Sark had their first losing record in their last 5 seasons.
