If there were no other significant needs on this team, I could get behind drafting a RB in the first or second, but that is not the case this year.

Singletary is fine as a main back, Duke Johnson is an attempt to fill the specialist role of 3rd down back.  While this team needs a corner who can star/play significant snaps early in the season in case Tre White isn’t ready.  Ideally, they would ink a vet to fill that role, but they look to be out of cap space.

They need another WR that can challenge McKenzie in the slot and in case Gabe Davis isn’t as good as he has looked so far.  There is no solution at WR on the roster beyond those 3.

OG is a long-standing problem and moves even higher in the needs list if they lose Bates as a FA.  Even with Bates returning, this is a big need area.  I’ve been a Cody Ford apologist, but even I am ready to admit that he is a long-shot to be an answer for this team.

Nice breakdown. The RB pick in the first round would be very I'll advised. I think the Bill's front office is too smart to make such an error.

I like what I see in that he appears to actually have vision, that’s awesome.  I don’t see a super physical runner, especially for his size.  He bounces a lot to the outside.  Hands look good, has some shiftiness to him.   Trying to think of a guy to compare him to and all I come up with is Melvin Ingram III, which isn’t enough for me.   Ok if he’s there in the second, but I’m not burning a first on him.  He’s a little like Henry coming out, that worked out, but he struggled early.

holy cow when I read this Breece Hall is compared as a

schwinggg Goodness gracious all in YES. now THAT guy was a legend and a force in the NFL  heck yeahhhh I would love a guy like that in a bills uniform.  Wether or not the Bills pull the trigger on him ....another team picks him maybe u just never know come NFL draft first round day.

On a sidenote reading how Von Miller had expected to have been drafted by Buffalo but NOPE Denver swooped in and grabbed him up before the Bills could...Not THAT has come full circle eh mateys? HA!

Breece Hall is a speeding bowling ball with a nasty spin move, like epically good. Makes phenomenal catches, and is abusive on the goal line exactly like Jonathan Taylor. A total complete RB. Even if we don’t take him, I will be rooting for him whoever gets the honor of obtaining his talents.

Just like I felt Allen had a chance to be special pre draft when many pointed to his completion % as a red flag … I feel the same way about Breece Hall in this offense.  Yes we do need a CB… it’s a given.. yes we need OLine depth and a potential long term starter… WR is not a need but a luxury pick early for this year.  The likelihood Breece Hall will be there at pick 57 are slim… there is a better chance that one of Elam, Gordon, McCreary, Woolen, Bryant or Taylor-Britt will be.

But he’s 6’1 220 and runs a 4.39!

A few weeks ago…there was trade rumor buzz of oft injured 16 million dollar a year RB Christian McCaffery being traded to the Bills… did you think we would get him for free?  Where there is smoke ..  there is fire.  RB is a concern

What does a rumor have to do with anything?  So your saying that we’re going to draft a Rb in rd one because there was a rumor about us trading for mccaffery? Because where there’s smoke, there’s fire.

I am saying RB to me is an area of weakness… CB is also an area that needs to be addressed as well as OL.. it depends on Beane’s assessment when the pick comes up.  And true they are just rumors but we wont know until the draft.

I don’t know either way.  I would think that RB will not be our choice unless:  the draft falls in a way where 6 corners, 5-6 WRs and the OL that we have rated higher, are all taken.

I think there’s about a 10% chance RB is the pick.  You think RB is the pick @ 25?  Or you hope it is?

We are both fans … and want whats best for the Bills and a Superbowl..I respect all your opinions and insights.  I enjoy the debate also … it’s all good.  I think Hall would take this offense over the top which is what we need this year.  I think a 2nd round CB could come in, play and develop .. maybe sign an aging vet like Haden, Rhodes or Peterson.  OL in the 3rd potentially WR dependent on who is there and Beanes value at that pick.

And just for the record… I do want that Punter Matt Araiza

I hear ya.  In terms of team construction, it’s just not a smart move considering our QB contract.  Drafting players at premium positions that will be under contract for 5 years and playing at a high level.  Drafting another tredavious white @ 25 and having him under contract for the next 5 years would do wonders for this franchise.  Drafting a Justin Jefferson would do the same.  Drafting a Rb just doesn’t hold any long term potential.

but I agree that he could take us over the top of the OL is good.  If the OL performs like they did the first 2/3 of last season, Breece hall will be completely wasted. He’s not so good where he can make a bad OL good.

You hear that about every player, every year.  Just no saying that’s the case.

😂 yes.  I should have been more caught up in the Underwear Olympics.

Neither was DK Metcalf… we made the mistske of taking Cody Ford over him.

Running backs are different.  There’s a reason the highest paid WR is getting twice as much as the highest paid RB.

While the prices of all positions go up every year, the highest paid rb might actually go down over the next few years.

I just like Hall’s size, speed and pass catching ability out of the backfield… it makes our offense so much more versatile, unpredictable and explosive in all areas

I agree.  It’s just not conducive with winning and building sustained dominance.

Yes but neither is Von Miller… The window is open for winning a Superbowl this year… let’s take it
