HEY LIZ, anything going on in Wyoming ?

FTA:

At the same time that Wyoming’s largest attraction shut down, the state’s sole congresswoman, Liz Cheney, was in Washington D.C. conducting the second episode of her beloved Jan. 6 Committee’s Soviet-style show trial to prosecute Trump and his supporters. So far, a single tweet Tuesday afternoon is the extent of Cheney’s public addressing of the flooding that’s shut down her state’s top recreational space which drew 4.9 million visits last year and added more than $444 million to local communities in 2020.

The flooding is “probably the worst thing that’s happened disaster-wise since the fires of ’88,” said Jeff Olson, a resident of Cheney’s adopted hometown, in an interview with Jackson Hole News & Guide. “To have all five entrances closed because of one event during the summer season? It’s crazy.”

The last two press releases from Cheney’s office, however, are each transcripts of her remarks in Monday’s Jan. 6 hearing. Despite the fact that half of her state is under the jurisdiction of the federal government, the Wyoming lawmaker is also no longer on the House Natural Resources Committee, having instead embraced her vendetta against Trump and his supporters as a hallmark of her time in the lower chamber.

Cheney has faced rising criticism about her absence from the state as she uses her remaining time in Congress to spar with Trump. The Wyoming representative serves as vice chair of the Democrats’ weaponized Jan. 6 Committee, where her appointment from House Speaker Nancy Pelosi followed a prohibition on members appointed by the House minority leader. In April, a Federalist analysis of campaign finance data in her race against Trump-endorsed attorney Harriet Hageman revealed Cheney is relying on Beltway donors to fund a fourth term. Only 2 percent of the incumbent congresswoman’s total contributions, with $10 million to spend this cycle, came among Wyoming constituents.

On a rare visit to the state in February, Cheney snubbed voters to mingle with reporters instead.

In a prepared statement to the Jan. 6 committee, J. Michael Luttig, a conservative retired federal judge scheduled to testify Thursday, lambasted President Donald Trump and his allies, saying they had ‘instigated’ a war on democracy and “laid waste to Americans’ confidence in their national elections.”

Luttig has been called by the panel to push back against the argument advanced by Trump that Vice President Mike Pence could have rejected the electoral college votes of some states won by Joe Biden. Pence presided over the counting on Jan. 6, 2021, in his role as president of the Senate.

“It is breathtaking that these arguments even were conceived, let alone entertained by the President of the United States at that perilous moment in history,” Luttig wrote. “Had the Vice President of the United States obeyed the President of the United States, America would immediately have been plunged into what would have been tantamount to a revolution within a paralyzing constitutional crisis.”

No need to have an election in 2024 - Kamala can just reject the electoral college slates that don’t favor Biden or whomever runs for the D.

What the January 6 Committee Might Have Been
 15 Jun, 2022 | Victor Davis Hanson

A real committee would also investigate the other, far larger and more lethal riots on iconic federal property months earlier.

Congress should investigate fully the January 6 riot at the Capitol—and similar recent riots at iconic federal sites.

But unfortunately, it never will. Why not?

The current committee is not bipartisan. House Speaker Nancy Pelosi (D-Calif.) forbade Republican nominees traditionally selected by the House minority leader to serve on the committee.

No speaker had ever before rejected the minority party’s nominees to a select House committee.

Pelosi’s own cynical criteria for Republican participation were twofold: Any willing minority Republican members had to have voted to impeach Donald Trump while having no realistic chance of being reelected in 2022.

Of some 210 Republican House members, that left just Representatives Liz Cheney (R-Wyo.) and Adam Kinzinger (R-Ill.) who were willing and able to fit Pelosi’s profile.

A real investigation would have ignited argumentation, cross-examination, and disagreements— the sort of give-and-take for which congressional committees are famous.

In contrast, the January 6 show trial features no dissenting views. Its subtext was right out of the Soviet minister of Internal Affairs Lavrentiy Pavlovich Beria’s credo: “Show me the man and I’ll show you the crime”.

If Donald Trump was not considering a third run for the presidency, would the committee even have existed?

Its slick Hollywood-produced optics demonstrate that the committee has no interest in inconvenient facts. Why did a Capitol officer lethally shoot a petite unarmed woman entering a Capitol window? And why was the officer’s identity and, indeed all information about his record, withheld from the public?

Why did the committee not investigate whether large numbers of FBI agents and informants were ubiquitous among the crowd? After all, progressive New York Times reporter Matthew Rosenberg who was there January 6, claimed, “There were a ton of FBI informants amongst the people who attacked the Capitol.”

About his own journalistic colleagues advancing a psychodramatic “insurrection” narrative, Rosenberg scoffed, “They were making too big a deal. They were making [Jan. 6] some organized thing that it wasn’t.”

A real committee would also investigate why there were lots of warnings that a large crowd would assemble, but apparently little government follow-up to ensure security, should rogue elements turn violent.

A real committee would learn why the government and media insisted that officer Brian Sicknick was killed by Trump supporters—even when it was known he died of natural causes.

None of the questions will be answered because none will be asked because the committee’s role is not inquiry but confirmation of a useful narrative.

Following President George W. Bush’s victory in 2000, litigated all the way to the U.S. Supreme Court, Democrats spent years saying he was “selected, not elected.” In 2004, many Democrats in Congress, including California Sen. Barbara Boxer, objected to certifying votes on January 7 on the grounds that Karl Rove controlled voting machines in Ohio to deliver Bush’s re-election victory.

Democrats have never held that such objections were tantamount to an insurrection. Neither should they.

Congress is one of the places Americans are allowed to express objections to the administration of elections. It isn’t even wrong to do so, much less criminal. And no counting of electoral college votes was as disputed as the 1876 election. Maladministration of that election led to chaos, disputed certifications, and violence.

According to our Constitution, which provides rules and mechanisms for disputes, Congress was a proper venue to air such disputes in 1877 and it’s a proper venue today, contrary to what Rep. Liz Cheney and other Donald Trump-addled politicians are claiming.

But nothing compares to the widespread refusal of the establishment to fully accept Trump’s victory in 2016. Democrats ran a massive and coordinated operation to disseminate the lie that Trump colluded with Russia to steal that election.

They tried to get the Electoral College voters to become “faithless” to keep from voting for Trump. They disseminated a fake “dossier” of invented salacious information with the goal of possibly keeping Trump from being inaugurated.

On January 6, 2017, FBI Director James Comey ran an operation against Trump by briefing him on the fake allegations, the fact of that briefing soon being leaked to propaganda network CNN to fan the flames of a well-funded and extremely coordinated “resistance” to undermine the administration. One out of every three Democrat members of Congress refused to attend Trump’s inauguration on the grounds that his election was illegitimate.

On the day Trump was installed, the Washington Post published a call for his impeachment. The hoax campaign alleging Trump stole the election by colluding with Russia was allowed to operate without any scrutiny for years. And to this day, nearly no one has been held accountable for the damage wrought by that known lie.

Meet DC gulag political prisoner Ryan Nichols. His attorney was permitted to view unreleased surveillance footage. Will he be called as a witness by the committee seeking "truth?"  Or better yet will they just release ALL of the video so people can decide for themselves?

No and no.

I'm sure many will justify the police conduct described below because Trump supporter and in a "restricted area".

Anyone who honestly wants to know the truth would after reading this description below want to view the video for themselves.

But again we already know many media leftist lapdogs here have absolutely no interest in the truth.

McBride focused on the conduct of one officer in particular, with badge number L359 and wearing a white shirt. The unidentified officer begins “to beat a man for no apparent reason . . . [and] beats the man so badly that the man crawls over to the woman with the MAGA hat.”

At this point, according to the security video, the officer turns his sights on the woman. “Then for reasons that no fair minded or decent human being will ever understand—[the officer wearing the] White-shirt turns his attention to the woman and begins to pulverize her,” McBride explained. “The weapon this officer appears to be using is a collapsible stick, designed to break windows in emergency situations. This stick is neither designed nor to be used against another human being.”

For the next several minutes, between 4 p.m. and around 4:15 p.m., the officer in the white shirt relentlessly beats the woman; McBride furnished a literal blow-by-blow account in the court document. (The time stamp is based on a three-hour video clip, not time of day.)

2:07:01: White-shirt hits the woman in the head with his baton five times in seven seconds;

2:07:22: The woman is sprayed directly in the eyes by officer on ledge;

2:07:24: White-shirt uses his baton to hit another person with a mask on;

2:07:30: The woman and others are still being maced and hit by White-shirt and ledge officer;

2:07:38: Blood is visibly coming out of the woman’s head and can be seen on the white hoody;

2:07:55: White-shirt and other officers are randomly assaulting people for no apparent reason;

2:08:17: White-shirt makes his way to front of crowd again and targets woman who is attempting to escape;

2:08:30: White-shirt spears and pokes the woman with his baton about the head, neck, and face so as to inflict maximum pain;

2:08:46: White-shirt beats the woman with his baton striking her eight times in six seconds;

2:09:13: White-shirt punches the woman in the face, with his left-hand, landing five punches in five seconds, with all of his might;

2:09:35: Another officer joins in and starts beating the woman in the head with his baton, landing twelve strikes in seven seconds;

2:10:47: If you pause the video here, you will see the welts on the woman’s face along with a disturbing look of helplessness;

2:10:54: Officers push the woman around the tunnel;

2:10:55: The woman briefly collapses;

2:11:13: White-shirt follows the woman to the front of the tunnel and beats her with his baton as she’s falling;

2:11:24: The woman is taken to the back of tunnel and is never seen again.

DOJ Fight With Jan. 6 Committee Bursts Into The Open (msn.com)

The Justice Department on Wednesday requested transcripts of all of the congressional Jan. 6 committee’s depositions, writing in a seemingly frustrated tone that the committee’s “failure” to grant access to the transcripts was complicating the department’s ability to investigate and prosecute those who engaged in criminal conduct related to the insurrection.

“The Select Committee’s failure to grant the Department access to these transcripts complicates the Department’s ability to investigate and prosecute those who engaged in criminal conduct in relation to the January 6 attack on the Capitol,” the letter stated, after noting that the DOJ couldn’t “compel” Congress to provide the transcripts on its own.

The committee was already going to publicly release everything in September, but since this all blew up, it looks like they'll start sharing evidence with the DoJ starting next month: https://www.nytimes.com/2022/06/17/us/politics/jan-6-committee-transcripts.html

Additional photographs and video obtained during the investigation show NICHOLS and HARKRIDER standing on the ledge of a U.S. Capitol window that is broken, with NICHOLS holding a bullhorn and a crowbar. In a video obtained online, NICHOLS can be identified in the crowd at the U.S. Capitol based on his appearance and distinct clothing, and he can be seen and heard yelling into the bullhorn in the direction of the large crowd, “If you have a weapon, you need to get your weapon!” As shown in another video, NICHOLS can be seen and heard yelling, “This is the second revolution right here folks! […] This is not a peaceful protest.” Additional video shows that, close in time to these events, at least dozens

Additional video evidence shows NICHOLS near an entrance to the U.S. Capitol building in a large crowd actively forcing entry into the building, which was guarded by U.S. Capitol Police. During the video, a screenshot of which is shown below, NICHOLS can be seen taking a large, red aerosol canister from another person in the crowd and spraying an unknown agent, believed based on its appearance to be OC/pepper spray, in the direction of the entrance into the U.S. Capitol building, where federal law enforcement officers were engaged in the performance of official duties, that is, seeking to restrain the mob of individuals who were forcing entry. Figures 8 and 9 below are still shots from the OC/pepper spray video, with arrows indicating NICHOLS’ clothing and the suspected OC/pepper canister. of individuals were actively forcing their way inside the U.S. Capitol building through an entrance in the immediate vicinity of NICHOLS and HARKRIDER.

Another innocent bystander and political prisoner.  Just a guy and his buddy trying to help out a little old lady. #Julie'sHeroes

These guys had the foresight to post their actions on facebook and SnapChat and save the tax payers a few bucks on the investigation.

I agree, release the tapes and lets see how someone who isn't Nichols defense attorney interprets the events.
