Kanter Freedom NBA player and China Critic

Former Utah Jazz player Enes Kanter — now Enes Kanter Freedom — made the rounds on Capitol Hill the past two days, including meeting with Utah’s two senators, to talk about China’s human rights record and its influence on the NBA.

Freedom, an outspoken critic of the Chinese and Turkish governments, attended a closed-door lunch Wednesday with Republican senators hosted by Utah Sen. Mike Lee.

The Hill reported that according to senators in the room, the 10-year NBA veteran talked about China’s growing influence over the NBA and how players and other personnel who speak out against China’s human rights record face blacklisting.

Lee, the Senate Republican Steering Committee chairman, said he wants an explanation from the NBA about why Freedom was traded by the Boston Celtics and then unceremoniously waived by the Houston Rockets.

Good for him speaking out.

Glad to see Tiberius on the right side of an issue for once.

This player has obviously been blackballed for speaking out against China's abuses.

He is a good player and the fact that no one has picked him up (yet) makes it plain for all to see.

If it’s true that he has been black balled because he criticized authoritarianism, that is seriously bad. The Chineses communist party dictating to NBA teams here in America. Not cool.

I’m pretty sure they are dictating to Hollywood too.

Yah at least he spoke up against them unlike Lebron he's all for the Chinese he wouldn't say a bad thing about them if he had a mouth full & may be 1 that led the charge to black ball this guy ...

If they can own the president and other politicians, what’s one nba player?

I think it’s even less likely that anyone signs Kanter than it was that anyone signs Kaepernick c. 2018.
Both clearly and obviously blackballed. I liked Kanter as a ball player too. A defensive liability, but he always rebounded and he has some offensive game. Look around the NBA at some backup big men who are getting 12 minutes a game and it’s obvious what’s going on with Kanter. Err, Freedom.

But it is true though. Trump loves Putin, the terrorists, mass murderer. And you love Trump and voted for him

There's only 1 major difference the weakness seen by all and lack of common sense in implementing strategic actions of this administration !
