13 teams over 85%.   Average is 73%.

The large difference between teams is surprising.   It would be interesting to know how the different teams handled the messaging.

I wonder if the teams below 50 have coaches who are anti vaccine themselves thus not really pushing that hard? It is such a shocking difference.

The Yankees just had to cancel a game due to an outbreak and they’re 85%+ vaccinated. Still no guarantees. Frankly with those kinds of numbers I’m surprised they’re still testing.

Thought the Yankees refused (as they should) to speak on how many of the affected players were vaccinated (but said at least one was not)

I think the NFL and NFLPA both provided standard materials.

I guess the details around the presentation and how the coaches/player leaders handle it make a diff. 🤷‍♂️

This year I hope they don't reschedule games, you play with what you've got.

That's what they've said.  But I don't think the NFL's covid protocols have adjusted to the reality of Life with Delta yet, and I'll stop right there.

I'll just note (as has been said before) that I live in Missouri and have relatives in SW MO.  Google.

Due to the Delta, they should go with the expanded Practice Squads again this season.

I wish they would just publish the numbers. I think we're all curious (the pro or against) about the numbers. They did reveal some, why not all? Especially if it is going to affect what and how you do things at practice and in the buildings, and travel and such once the season starts. Those numbers will make a competitive difference--I got to think the professional gambling industry (odds makers, pro. gamblers, Vegas, etc.) will need to know. It seems like they have to release all at some point?

Well, for one thing, as the OP notes, the numbers are changing daily at this point, and with the players "out of the office" as it were, the numbers the teams provide to the NFL may not reflect reality.

For example, the teams that are logged right now significantly lower in vaccination rate, may just have a guy who is less proactive in charge of collecting the data and providing it to the NFL (or maybe he went on vacation for 2 weeks and didn't transfer responsibility to someone else).

For another thing, I think the NFL is already walking a pretty fine line around protecting private medical information that the employer has a legit right to know (but the rest of the world does not)

If it stays that way, it would be interesting to know the difference but at this point I don't think we can exclude the explanation of "ratty data".

And to CSBill, I don't think the NFL revealed any? but a source leaked it?  Pretty sure that when training camps start up and everyone is in the facility, the quality of the data will be more uniform, the numbers will level off, and Vegas will get the info on all teams by hook or crook.

The affected players, yeah, but as a team they’re above 85%

You know that anyone not a lock starter is already vacc.  They aren’t stupid and know whether advertised or not will cut depth guys.

Only the 22 are really going to make that choice.  I agree Allen probably just did it by now, but doesn’t want to publicly come out against Beasely or anyone else.  I think that is smart in threading the needle between players, the team, and the public.

Honestly the bolded is exemplary of Allen's savviness, on or off the field.

I see your point, I think

I guess I don’t have much of one 😂 other than even with high rates of vaccination you could end up with significant numbers of players in protocol for days at a time. Assuming they’re still testing everyone.

I don’t disagree it could be cruddy data or less proactive collectors, but these are the same 2 teams that during minicamp when some of the initial data was provided were also at the low end.  Some teams were nearing 50% and these 2 teams - along with Chargers were below 25%.

It could still be a sign of less active collection, but as they have been low since the spring I don’t think it is a vacation issue with a data collector - I think it is more these teams and I have no idea whether that is disclosing information or not having sustained talking points or what.  I find it particularly interesting that Washington with Rivera recovering from Cancer is on the low side as that to me seems like a place they would be pushing the numbers big time.

Fair point about them being low since the Spring.  And maybe there is a reason why Rivera brought in an expert immunologist to talk to the guys during OTAs.  Maybe he knew he had extra resistance to overcome.  I wonder if, being a new coach last year with covid restrictions and perhaps even player interaction due to his cancer treatment, Rivera is struggling to build his culture?

I suspect there was a very calculated reason why Beane issued his public statement about cutting a non-vaccinated player if they needed to and it went along the same lines as Bruce Arians being asked if he planned to bring in a specialist to talk to the team like WFT did:

Quote

"No, I’m the specialist," Arians said with a laugh. "If you wanna go back to normal, get vaccinated. Eighty-five percent is what we’re shooting for. . . . It’s still a personal choice, but I don’t see a reason not to be vaccinated."
