Hey it’s the will of the people. Don’t worry about the exodus of productive people, the backfill plan is already there, sanctuary city!

Buffalo is headed for socialist utopia. Buckle up kick back and enjoy the ride, for those of you who didn’t already leave long ago.

at least this particular one has a more genuine hard knox grass roots story and isn’t one of these fake (secret elites) well not yet anyway?

if any restaurant owners, particularly Italian or pizzarias are looking to relocate to a new state as Buffalo decays again please PM me. I have a well to do suburb in mind that is under-severed.

A Bocces and a Mighty Taco would look good down in the business district here too.

Babies and mistakes now? What would your Bishop say about that?

Um did you miss this reference?

Obama once famously said in his defense of abortion, that he "wouldn't want a mistake his teenage daughters make to ruin their lives."  It was something like that.

That having a kid as a teen or at young age dooms your life.

Because Democrats are evil people.

Ahhh.....I misremembered....

Obama's quote was much much worse:

Obama's "punished with a baby" comment sparks protests

While addressing a campaign rally in Pennsylvania last weekend, Sen. Obama said, "When it comes specifically to HIV/AIDS, the most important prevention is education, which should include -- which should include abstinence education and teaching the children -- teaching children, you know, that sex is not something casual," he said.

"But it should also include -- it should also include other, you know, information about contraception because, look, I've got two daughters. 9 years old and 6 years old," he added.

"I am going to teach them first of all about values and morals. But if they make a mistake, I don't want them punished with a baby," Obama said.

You probably voted for socialism several times, in several different places, in last November's election.

I absolutely did not, and having an avowed socialist in office is literally the most anti American thing

The economy is already hurting in Buffalo and I guarantee you more businesses are going to leave

Good article

She also wants to reallocate police funds in one of the most dangerous cities in the country

And the most dangerous in New York state

I Spend a lot of time on the east side. It doesn't need its funds being allocated and taken away

It needs more funding for better training, so they can handle high tension situations better.. which they are in alot

Hahaha a socialist

Voting for a legitimate socialist is so American hahah

The city is ******

Why would you hope she wins so she can ruin the city for people like me who live here?

This is America.. I never voted for socialism in my life

Sorry to you. But idealists need occasional reminders as to why actual socialism fails in the real world because the people who lead productive responsible lives are penalized into subsidizing the unproductive and irresponsible.

When the responsible and productive individuals respective quality of life is undermined they flee…  hence there are few or no hosts left for the parasites and the socialist ideals are defeated…

It's already the most violent city in New York state.. sit on that.. the most violent city in New York state

And she wants to take away funds from the police

Only about 22 thousand voted , they thought Brown was a shoe in for a 5th term. No republican even bothered to run. His only chance is to spend big for a write in campaign in Nov.  That's very slim to work.

What a disaster.

Bond rating was already lowered twice in the last 2 years.

Welcome to Portlandia.  Just what a city that can barely attract any significant businesses and is letting covid kill it needs.

"Free" housing and rent.  There is plenty of wealth up there to do so.

This is it—between the shakedown to do business in a city like Buff, wetting the beak of politicians to get things accomplished, the potential for unrest supported by “leaders” and the inevitable additional shakedown of this wealthy family, the Pegs would be wise to avoid the city like the plague. To be completely honest, they’d be wise to vacate NY but so far, so good.

So is an activist who you want for your city's leader (not you Doc.  Buffalo)?  An activist typically doesn't serve the community. They serve their agenda and narrative.  Good luck Buffalo.

"Rent Control" is step one in give renters all the power and very little to the people that actually own the asset and pay the property taxes.  Trust me on this.  I've seen it up close and personal here in CA.

The people of Buffalo hardly even voted

And because they are lukewarm, we will be sold off to the Marxist socialist agenda

Everything that Buffalo had going positive for them.. it's about to go down the drain

They could make more housing instead of doing rent control. All those abandoned houses in Buffalo could be torn down and new houses built. Rent control is a bad idea IMO

So your recommendation on more housing is to tear down existing housing and build new housing?  :wallbash:

At 14?  Likely without a father?  Yeah that's a huge mistake. Good on her for overcoming it.  Isn't something you want to put on your leadership resume however.

They are.

It's going to be when the Sabres are put up for sale when the area finally realizes it.

They've done the math.  716 is a disaster and not making them money - not thru their own fault Covid has put the nail in the coffin but its impossible to profit in the city unless the rent has been paid.

The Sabres will continue to operate at the levels of spending you've seen.  But I think the only thing keeping them in Buffalo is they are Terry's love.  But the family will sell them eventually.

The Bills are fine because the NFL can print money.

What made it good?  It essentially said nothing about Ms Walton.  It talked mostly about that mighty city of Milwaukee and how socialism made it mighty.

Sorry sir,

You heard her, A home is not an investment it’s a human right. Projects and rent control devalue property. Property value drops reduce tax base. Tax increases come next, and it’s not going to come from the unemployed living in free housing. My advise is get out while you still can.
