Journos baffled as to why Biden saying how great the economy is won't 'sink in' with the public

Biden's "best efforts have yet to meaningfully register with the public"? Perhaps that's because what's registering with the public is that Biden's economic brags run counter to what most people are feeling.

But that's not stopping many in the media from being baffled about why more people aren't believing Biden over their lying grocery & gas bills.

You’re Paying More for Your Home. Yes, That’s Inflation

The market’s next move will be determined by what happens with inflation, and this week, we’re looking ahead to the latest Consumer Price Index inflation report. One of the biggest drivers of inflation right now is housing costs.

Chief economist at Zillow, Skylar Olsen, helps break down how the housing and rental markets are contributing to high inflation. Plus, WSJ’s Deputy Editor in Chief Charles Forelle joins to discuss Charles Schwab’s recent financial troubles and what those could mean for retail investors

Over the last 10 plus years, the Democrats have managed to essentially rig the public discourse to the point where the economy doesn’t even matter.  I mean for sane people with mortgages and bills to pay it does.  But that’s not their base.

No one in their party will tell you how bad it is - because every solution that doesn’t involve government hand outs is now off the table for them.

That’s how far gone they are.

The Republican Party civil war is MAGA vs GOP.

Trump isn’t a Republican he used the party to win and then had to fight it’s resistance to him and his policies - yes they agree with 75% of them.

But immigration, taxes, globalism, and foreign policy are where they split.

The Democrats are just full fledged communists you should never vote for.

The concerning thing is the US national debt rose by $1 trillion in just 3 months.  Whether its an accelerating trend or a one-time blip isn't clear.

I have been assured this is impossible: US poverty rate has first increase in 13 years

TEDDY GRANT FROM ABC NEWS

The poverty rate in the United States increased last year, the first increase in 13 years, according to the Census Bureau.

In 2022, the poverty rate was 12.4%, up 4.6% from 2021, according to the Supplemental Poverty Measure (SPM), which looks at government programs and tax credits designed to help low-income families, according to the census.

The expiration of pandemic programs, including refundable tax credits and stimulus payments, at the start of 2022, led to an increase in the SPM over the official poverty rate, the census reported.

The poverty rate among children saw a sizeable increase, more than doubling from 5.2% in 2021 to 12.4% last year, census data shows.

OK, I try to be a nice guy. Most of the time.

But really, I gotta call this one as I see it. You've outdone yourself. The all time stupid comment on the board. And that's saying something.

Federal payments to poor people stopped. Which is obviously what you wanted. That caused the child poverty rate to tick back up.

So you don't realize it, but you appear to be arguing that we should reinstate federal COVID wealth transfer programs.

Congratulations. We found a Biden voter.

Think before posting. It's refreshing!

Hooray ?

Gov’t Jobs Are Booming In Biden’s Economy, Data Shows

The number of jobs added to the U.S. economy has been increasingly inflated by public sector positions as the economy begins to cool, according to data from the Bureau of Labor Statistics (BLS).

The 327,000 public jobs added for the year as of August 2023 made up 17.4% of total jobs added, while the proportion was only 5% after the U.S. added 175,000 public sector jobs during that same time frame in 2022, according to the BLS. The U.S. added a total of 3,590,000 jobs from the start of 2022 to that August, which is far greater than the 1,884,000 added during that time span in 2023.
