Biden's follies

RICH LOWRY: The Real Biden Presidency Emerges.

The best case for Biden was that he could ride in the slipstream of good economic growth and a receding pandemic, beaten back by the vaccines that began to be administered before Biden took office. Instead, the labor market is still rocky and the Delta variant has surged, leading to headlines about overstretched health care systems that most people assumed that we’d left behind in the spring of 2020.

With his honeymoon gone, with Trump less of a factor, with economic conditions and the state of the virus not as favorable as expected, Biden had been stripped down to a more natural level of support and sliding in the polls since around June.

Then, he made the first major, historic decision of his presidency, and completely botched it. Biden has tried to deflect responsibility for his exit from Afghanistan onto Trump and his execrable deal with the Taliban. Yet, the decision to quit when he did and how he did was all on Biden.

He hasn’t shown a hint of doubt or regret. The notion of leaving Afghanistan is popular in theory; the way Biden did it is radioactive in practice. The White House may tell itself that Biden’s decision will come to seem farsighted, and its possible that the harmful political effect will wear off over time.

Leaving Americans behind in a foreign country after an enemy of the United States swept to power and chased us out with our tails between our legs, though, is not likely to be forgotten, certainly not in 2022 or 2024, if ever.

The prime directive for any president is, to the extent possible, to seem in control. Biden failed this test repeatedly during the evacuation crisis. Events moved faster than he did and his rationales for what was happening had to be constantly revised, until he settled on the explanation that it is impossible to end any war in good order.

Or to put it another way, unexpectedly:

image.png.0e92463bef05c10564366f513377b8f6.png        A DAY TO BE STUPID

Last night the White House released President Biden’s recorded statement on the twentieth anniversary of 9/11. This was to be the day that Biden celebrated our departure from Afghanistan. As our departure turned into the epic humiliation of the United States at the hands of forces that were instrumental to the 9/11 attack itself, he had a change of plan.

While the 9/11 attack was still underway, Rick Rescorla understood immediately what was happening. Shepherding his charges in the south tower of the World Trade Center to safety at the sacrifice his his own life, Rescorla declared 9/11 “a day to be proud to be an American.” Rescorla’s message was one of resolve.

For the moment at least, Biden has turned 9/11 into a day of national shame. Evincing no awareness of what he has done or what was done to us, he has now turned it into a day to be stupid. It is a day to advertise his stupidity — give me the old time willful blindness — to revel in it and to chide Americans for their bigotry.

Those words are fine, listen to the WHOLE thing.

To recap, when socially distanced and not speaking he’s masked up.  Then he spots someone he knows, teeters over,  gets inside the COVID danger zone, yanks the mask off his face, presumably to spray whomever he’s speaking to with old man spittle?

What a clever boy, this Joe Biden.

IT’S COME TO THIS:

Biden’s Ninth Circuit Nominee — Was Just Unanimously Overturned by the Ninth Circuit.

How exceedingly awful was Koh’s ruling?

“A three-judge panel of the U.S. Court of Appeals for the Ninth Circuit (unanimously) reversed a 2019 ruling by a federal judge who found that Qualcomm had abused its monopoly position in wireless chips and overcharged mobile phone makers for its patents….

“The District Court judge, Lucy Koh,…(issued) a 233-page decision that could have forced Qualcomm to renegotiate its licensing contracts with phone makers and license its technology to rival chip makers.

“But the appeals court panel was not persuaded.

“In a 56-page ruling, the judges concluded that Qualcomm had no duty under antitrust law to license its competitors. They also ruled that Qualcomm’s policy of not supplying chips to any handset maker that had not licensed its patents did not work like an illegal surcharge on chips sold by competitors.

“‘Anti-competitive behavior is illegal under federal antitrust law,’ the judges wrote.  “Hyper-competitive behavior is not.”

The Ninth Circuit totally obliterated Koh’s ruling — and her alleged legal thinking behind it.

And now Biden has nominated Koh for a promotion — to the Ninth Circuit.

The court that totally obliterated Koh’s ruling — and her alleged legal thinking behind it.

Those Court colleague lunches should be really…interesting.

You only promote Koh — if you’re primarily interested in destroying the judiciary, IP, the economy and the country.

To be fair, based on the past eight months, you could make the argument that that is precisely the Biden administration’s goal.

Joe Biden Tried to Bully Joe Manchin, Here's How That Went

fb27ddcb-da36-482b-a167-f30ed83e1966-860

As reported last night, Sen. Mitch McConnell rejected a plea from Treasury Secretary Janet Yellen to raise the debt ceiling and fulfill all the left’s wildest hopes and dreams. But on the same day, another plea to burn down your grandkids’ future was made, this time by President Joe Biden to Sen. Joe Manchin in support of the $3.5 trillion reconciliation boondoggle.

Biden called Manchin and Sen. Kyrsten Sinema to the principal’s office to try to bully them into going along with the party’s wants. Apparently, the thought here was that the latter would burn down their political careers to please Bernie Sanders? Here’s how that went per Axios.

Defying a president from his own party — face-to-face — is the strongest indication yet Manchin is serious about cutting specific programs and limiting the price tag of any potential bill to $1.5 trillion. His insistence could blow up the deal for progressives and others.

Axios was told Biden explained to Manchin his opposition could imperil the $1.2 trillion bipartisan infrastructure bill that’s already passed the Senate. Biden’s analysis did little to persuade Manchin to raise his top line.

Not familiar with details of the Aussie deal, but the EU and France have a real beef....must be some serious behind the scenes issues with Biden. He is as bad with Allie relationships as trump. This on top of Afghanistan shows Biden and his peeps are lost.

How is everything all these people were worried would happen under Trump, literally happening under Biden!?

These people straight up projected on us for 4 years then voted in the dude that exemplifies everything they claimed to be worried about.

Just today:

-FDA votes down boosters as Biden planned a roll out in a few days

-12,000 Haitians somehow at the border as the Biden Admin orders down media drones covering the story

-US killed 10 civilians, including 7 children, in a drone strike in the way out of Afghanistan
