DANA LOESCH: The Blame for Afghanistan.

Here’s the issue: There are no good options for leaving, just options that would have prevented the fecal storm we saw all over the news the past 24 hours.

We were in Afghanistan to rout out Al Qaeda from the country after they used it not just as their HQ but for their terror training camps. Afterwards we saw a revolving door of officials yoke an entire generation to an ever-changing mission creep redefined by each new politician’s politics.

We could not have closed Bagram AFB before evacuating American personnel and allies like interpreters and informants before announcing our full withdrawal. We could not have left behind our military equipment that we taxpayers bought for the Taliban to take and potentially sell, like our drones, to their financial backers in China’s communist party for them to reverse engineer. We could not have kept terrorist prisoners alive in the prisons that the Taliban freed and added to their armies on the way.

There was a way to do this smoothly and it required time to plan, time Biden did not want to give. Biden and his apologists were too busy trying to manufacture the outrage that none of this would have happened had we not, under Trump, begun negotiations with the Taliban. That is stupid thinking, argues my friend, Gulf War veteran, and retired Lt. Col. Kurt Schlichter, whose full thread you need to read, as these are just excerpts:

BRYAN PRESTON: Biden’s Speech on Afghanistan Was Terrible, But This Part Made the Least Sense of All.

“Not only is Biden withdrawing U.S. military forces from Afghanistan relatively early in his presidency, he’s withdrawing during the country’s well-known fighting season. Withdrawing in winter, instead of summer, would likely have led to a different outcome, especially if the withdrawal had been planned well and that plan executed in concert with our NATO allies.”

The embarrassment that is Joe Biden

American Thinker, by Andrea Widburg

Although the White House had intended to keep Biden under wraps for as long as possible, the demand that he say something – anything – about the unfolding debacle in Afghanistan forced him to leave Camp David for a 20-minute statement, after which he refused to take any questions.

The important part of what he said boils down to one sentence: We had to leave and everything that went wrong was Trump’s or the Afghans' fault. Biden is a craven coward, a feckless fool, a dismal dummy, and a man who will soon have more blood on his hands than a thousand Lady Macbeths.

Is it time for Congress to form a commission and investigate the insurrection in Kabul and what went wrong in Afghanistan?

More people died on a Kabul airport tarmac than on January 6th

No way in hell is that actual ice cream.

But still, the Taliban is trolling our President on Social Media and @Jack is good with it.

Tell me again they aren't a hostile foreign nation.   Silicon Valley should follow Levi's advise and shoot for minimalism.  Just do business here in the only country in the world that truly values its freedom.......oh wait......oh well half of us.

FTA:

Imagine that you are an American citizen, having believed Biden’s lies just weeks ago that Kabul would remain safe, and that you are now desperately trying to get to the airport. You are surrounded by men with guns who you probably can’t communicate with and who may or may not have gotten the message that Americans are to be allowed safe passage. You bring up the slow-running 3G internet on your phone that Afghanistan’s cell towers provide to see what the administration is doing to help your situation, and what do you see

That our buffoonish president has finally left Camp David…to talk about COVID again?

I’d be dumbfounded but also incredibly angry that the person who is ostensibly the President of the United States could be so incompetent and abandon his duties in such a blatant way. This is not the time to attack Ron DeSantis again or pretend that COVID isn’t obviously seasonal and largely out of our control. It’s not the time to obsess over ineffective mask mandates or try to shame people into getting vaccinated, a strategy that simply doesn’t work. Rather, this is the time to deal with the biggest foreign policy disaster of the last two decades that is still unfolding on the ground.

Biden’s move smacks of delusion and desperation. He wants so badly to change the subject, and he’s counting on a compliant media to allow him to do it. But for once, I don’t think they will let him. He’s going to get hammered if he comes out and just repeats the same lines about COVID we’ve heard hundreds of times at this point. Every question is going to be about Afghanistan and they should be.

This man is not capable of being president, and people seem to be waking up to that reality. It’s inexcusable that he even waited this long to return to the White House. It’s even worse now that he’s deflecting to COVID in some pathetic attempt to avoid responsibility for his disaster decision-making.

In Biden's defense, in addition to Afghanistan, he's currently dealing with at least three significant serious problems I'm aware of -  COVID, accelerating inflation, and the porous southern border.  While all but COVID are self inflicted, he's still got to deal with them.  As more Americans catch on to the fact that he doesn't know what he's doing, he's also going to be dealing with a crisis of confidence in his leadership.

COVID is of more concern to most Americans than the catastrophe unfolding in Afghanistan.  So if he can get back some of his mojo by talking about COVID, it's all good, though it's a short term fix.  The next time the incompetent and hysterical CDC Director he appointed opens her mouth in public, the Biden Administration's credibility on COVID will go right out the window again.

This would be funny if it weren't so sad.

Yup.  Which is why the moron got elected in the first place.  I'll bet those who aren't diehard libs are pissed at themselves.

Biden scrambles to tamp down panic over Afghanistan.

Plus: Should ABC publish the full, raw video of the Biden-Stephanopoulos interview?

Not if you want to tamp down panic over who’s running the country.
