That’s what you took from that?

That media reports of “armed insurrection” were apparently false is problematic to discussion?

Michael Brown was described as being unarmed and it mattered, though it’s pretty well established that beating an individual with fists, elbows can be detrimental to ones health.

Why the rush to cover for inaccurate reporting? What’s in it for you?

Then again maybe the people writing the story figured you would figure “Ah just give it to em”.

I’m not rushing to cover up anything - there is plenty of video of the events that transpired January 6. Our Capitol police was out manned because the Trump administration delayed to provide the necessary back up and support.

Don't you f’n dare question me when YOUR PARTY is responsible for the events of that day.  Don't twist any of this BS on me - armed or unarmed - what happened was a disgrace and forever stain on Trump.

*You* own it

This one is on me,  I know your posting history and should have expected this Greta Thornbergesque response.  “How daaaaaahhhhhhh youuuuuuu....”.

I think a few things:

I think words matter, that’s why journalists use them.  You don’t care.  I do.

I think the assault on the Capitol was horrific, the Capitol police overwhelmed, and I’m waiting to see what comes out of that.  We agree here, I think.

I think DJT is down in S Florida living a pretty good life, and not charged with a crime or in jail because he’s guilty of none of the things you think he is.  I think that’s because you rush headlong, emotionally burdened, into the arms of journalists who know you don’t worry so much about details.  As a result, they treat you like an organ grinder’s monkey and more often than not, you’re going to dance.

I think anarchists like anarchy, that they represent the extreme fringes of the ideological spectrum.  I know I’m a centrist, mostly, prefer law and order and that if you didn’t pop off so quickly we could probably find some common ground.

Finally—and this may sound harsh— but I did. I dared to question you on why you’re dancing on the head of a pin to defend shoddy or inaccurate journalism.

Are you enjoying a pop tart or have you found a smoking gun hidden in this piece?

Actually, this is the sort of piece I was referring to last night.  It starts with a headline that states, emphatically, that desperation exists.  The inference is that some highly placed source said that Rs are desperate.  In fact, it’s really just quoting the authors of the opinion piece.  Using last nights post, here would be an attention grabbing headline I might use back in my journalism days:

Analysis:  BillStime “an organ grinders monkey”

Here’s my question based on this deep dive ‘analysis’ and misleading headline that has you ruminating this Saturday morning:

Why is the federal government not pursuing charges directly against DJT for his role in the insurrection?   Why have the Dems not leaked clear and specific evidence of the conspiracy involving DJT to overrun the Capitol and leave office peacefully 14 days later?

In the alternative, when do you think these charges are forthcoming?

You can be you, think what you do and still demand reporting with a reasonable level of accuracy.  It’s a good thing to question agendas.  Or, you can let Gepetto make you think you’re a good dancer.

Wait... I thought the Republicans were the desperate ones...

I’m sure when the dust settles everyone will be right and everyone will be wrong.  We just must live out our own truth.

TIE A PRESIDENTIAL INAUGURATION SUPPORT RIBBON

Tucker Carlson opened his show last night with a reported editorial that FOX News has posted under the title “The mainstream media doomsday cult and the growth of the police state” (video below). It strikes me as some kind of a classic. Excerpt:

Just how dangerous is QAnon? Here’s the answer: the District of Columbia National Guard announced Friday that all troops who took part in the mission to protect our democracy from internet conspiracy theorists will now receive medals in recognition of their heroic sacrifice.

The primary medal is called the Presidential Inauguration Support Ribbon. That’s for people who were there for President Biden’s inauguration. But that medal will be supplemented, in cases in which our heroes have earned it, by the Emergency Service Ribbon. So if you’re a D.C. Guardsman who’s been on duty in the city since late January, protecting America from Trump voters, you can add another medal to your chest. More may be coming. According to Air Force Lt. Col. Robert Carver, “Other federal decorations are also being considered.”

That seems like a big deal. For context, more than 60,000 American soldiers and Marines fought on Guadalcanal in the South Pacific during the Second World War. About 15,000 of them died or were wounded there. Not one of those men got an official Guadalcanal medal for the experience, because the Pentagon didn’t offer them. Guadalcanal may have been horrible and bloody, but it just didn’t justify its own ribbon. Guadalcanal wasn’t North Capitol Street. The Imperial Japanese weren’t as fanatical as Trump voters and not half as dangerous.

this can’t be right. What kind of violent extremist insurrectionist forgets to bring guns to a coup ?

A Trumptard.  It takes a special kind of stupid to fall for an obvious conman's BS, believe the election was stolen, show up in DC with helmets, body armor, tactical uniforms, bear spay, mace, baseball bats, a spear, zip ties for handcuffing people, a gallows for Mike Pence but forget to bring your gun.

What Was In Ashli Babbitt’s Backpack When She Was Shot Dead by a Capitol Hill Police Officer ?

Gateway Pundit, by Tayler Hansen

On January 6th, 2021, Ashli Babbitt, a 14 year Air Force Veteran, was shot and killed by a Capitol Police Officer.

The Capitol Police continue to hide details of her shooting death from the American public..It was the only shooting incident at the US Capitol on January 6, 2021. The Officer who shot Ashli Babbit reportedly said Ashli’s backpack factored into him killing her. But what was actually inside Ashli’s backpack?

(Snip)

So does wearing a backpack give an officer an excuse to shoot you dead now? In a public statement made by the Police Officers’ Attorney, Mark Schamel, he states the backpack Ashli was wearing compounded the Officers fears.

It was the only shooting incident at the US Capitol on January 6, 2021.
