They Can’t Stop Us from Re-Opening America

by Kurt Schlichter

Original Article

We’re going to come out of this nightmare whether the Democratic politicians like it or not.

The pandemic is subsiding, so America is done with this lockdown nonsense, and the inevitable re-opening is coming. It will start out slow, then get faster, then get very, very fast, and then get finished. That’s how these things happen.

But it won’t happen without #resistance. The lib establishment and its media gerbils clearly think it’s in their interest to have the Bat Gobbler flu crisis continue indefinitely. They think it hurts Trump, plus they really love wielding power over you. Just look into the dead doll eyes of Governor Karen (D-Minncounsinigan)

Facebook shuts down anti-quarantine protests at states' request

Facebook is blocking anti-quarantine protesters from using the site to organize in-person gatherings in states that require residents to stay in their homes due to the coronavirus pandemic.

The world’s largest social network has already removed protest messages in California, New Jersey and Nebraska from its site at the urging of state governments who say those events are prohibited by stay-at-home orders, a company spokesperson said.

Dude ain't wrong. Reporters like her may not "give" their opinion in public (until they do), but they damn sure manipulate their stories to drive a narrative that somehow reflects their opinions.

I think there are important lessons that can be learned from the SWEDEN experiment.

Sweden’s unusual approach to fighting the coronavirus pandemic is starting to yield results, according to the country’s top epidemiologist.

Anders Tegnell, the architect behind Sweden’s relatively relaxed response to Covid-19, told local media the latest figures on infection rates and fatalities indicate the situation is starting to stabilize.

“We’re on a sort of plateau,” Tegnell told Swedish news agency TT.

As of Sunday, Sweden had reported 1,540 deaths tied to Covid-19, an increase of 29 from Saturday. That’s considerably more than in the rest of Scandinavia, but much less than in Italy, Spain and the U.K., both in absolute and relative terms.

Tegnell isn’t the only high-level official in Sweden to claim the country may be over the worst.

“The trend we have seen in recent days, with a more flat curve -- where we have many new cases, but not a daily increase -- is stabilizing,” Karin Tegmark Wisell, head of the microbiology department at Sweden’s Public Health Authority, said on Friday. “We are seeing the same pattern for patients in intensive care.”

Just two weeks ago, the picture was considerably bleaker, and Prime Minister Stefan Lofven suggested the government may need to review its approach amid the prospect of thousands of Swedish deaths. In particular, the failure to protect people in nursing homes has stood out as a clear weakness, which has contributed to higher death rates than in neighboring countries.

“The protection for people in elderly care should have been better,” Lofven said last week. “We need to look closer at what has gone wrong.”

Yet overall, Lofven’s strategy has won the approval of Swedes, and his personal popularity has soared.

Atlanta opening up theatres and restaurants in a few days.

I would like to see how they do that.  If it is at full capacity then I think they are asking for troubles.

Hopefully it’s a modified approach.

We have people afraid to pass each other on the sidewalk and yet there’s no rule against it. You actually believe most of this won’t be self regulating? Before the pandemic people would walk out of restaurants if they didn’t look clean....now they’ll do the same if they look to busy. Freedom is a wonderful thing.

I am interested in seeing if the state will give any specific guidelines Or mandates for theatres and restaurants or they will allow them to self-regulate.    I’m hoping for guidelines.

So in essence, since they would in fact just be guidelines, that means you’ll be self regulating. Everyone’s comfort level, pre-existing health issues, and risk tolerance are different.

Atlanta is going to be a fascinating test case.   Like our very own Sweden.   Atlanta is being more aggressive than Florida in their start up plans.

You would think that the cases will go up, it’s only logical and I’m sure the media will be all over them and Trump for that matter if it does.   But the standard should not be if cases go up, but if the curve is flattened enough so that their hospital systems can sustain the demand in patients.

When Will Democrats Cry Uncle?

by Christopher Chantrill

Original Article

A couple of weeks ago I predicted correctly that President Trump would reopen the economy midway between the point where the Democrats would blame him for doing it too early and the point where the Democrats would blame him for opening the economy too late.

I now realized that the president has gone one better than that, he has actually threaded the needle on opening the economy. He has decreed a road-map and left it up to the governors how to drive the road back to town.
