Trump staff don't even think the protests lead to cases and then complain that when cases rose after the Trump rally, the media is to blame? Also some cute disingenuousness on the campaign providing masks (that no one wore) and no mention of them removing social distancing stickers from chairs in the Tulsa arena.

Trump campaign communications director Tim Murtaugh told CNN, "There were literally no health precautions to speak of as thousands looted, rioted, and protested in the streets and the media reported that it did not lead to a rise in coronavirus cases. Meanwhile, the President's rally was 18 days ago, all attendees had their temperature checked, everyone was provided a mask, and there was plenty of hand sanitizer available for all. It's obvious that the media's concern about large gatherings begins and ends with Trump rallies."

Murtaugh provided a link to CNN reporting on research suggesting that Black Lives Matter protests across the country did not lead to a jump in coronavirus cases.

The point being that the authorities in Tulsa state there was several large gatherings besides the Trump rally, they have contract tracers working like crazy and as a result of those contract tracers they are requiring restaurant and BAR employees to wear masks.

does that scream a  “ superspreader” event? No, it does not. Cause just like we have learned about choir practice etc being a super spreading event, we would know in a flat minute if contract tracing pointed to the Trump rally being one.

BTW, as I said at the time, we should have paid those people to attend and become part of an experiment on how the virus spread at an event with some scale indoors. I would love to see numbers related to that to further our understanding in that front.

or maybe, just maybe, the areas where the peak had already occured, not much of a rise.

But those areas where the virus was just starting? Like texas, Florida, and Arizona and California? Maybe it helped fuel the explosion in cases

I didn’t see this post until now.  Yep!

Pretty much what I brought up earlier.  There is no doubt that the protests throughout the country played a significant role in the transmission of the virus.   If the protests had been right wing protests and there had been thousands of protests with tens of millions of protesters throughout the country, who happened to be the exact same demographic who is infected the most, primarily in the cities they were protesting in right about at the same time when you’d expect the infections to rise, the media would have denounced the right wing protests AS THE REASON for the spread.  There would have been literally stories written every day about it in every major news outlet.

https://www.nytimes.com/interactive/2020/07/03/us/george-floyd-protests-crowd-size.html

-Four recent polls — including one released this week by Civis Analytics, a data science firm that works with businesses and Democratic campaigns — suggest that about 15 million to 26 million people in the United States have participated in demonstrations over the death of

Police Officers who were policing the protests and riots throughout the country are reporting significant increases in infections and they attribute it to the protests.

The media doesn’t want to make the correlation between the two because they aren’t honest and they don’t want to criticize a cause they stand for and they don’t dare get in the way of the mob or they could lose their jobs.

The public just goes along with anything that they say without using an iota of common sense or the ability to critically think for themselves and put two and two together.

Yesterday, Wednesday, saw two states top triple digit Covid deaths (CA and TX). Over half the country was in single digits or zero. Having read through the last couple of pages before posting my daily report it seems many if not most of you are desperately trying to make this political but I’m hard pressed to find the common threads. For example Minnesota and DC, the sites of so much protesting a month ago have seen no rise in deaths. Oklahoma, the site of the Trump rally had a grand total of THREE deaths yesterday. Florida still has lots of new cases but a very low fatality rate. And California which has a huge population and a 100% democratic leadership now leads in fatalities but is not even in the same universe as the NY metro area. And finally....NY which has opened up again is seeing record low fatalities. People! This is a virus. It’s doing what viruses do. It’s moving into areas that haven’t seen infections until now, but for some reason is WAY LESS fatal.

So never mind the HUGE Junteenth celebration in Tulsa the day before the trump rally.

I don't see a mask in the place

There was not a Juneteenth event in 2020. Those pictures are from 2019. Directly from the link you posted...

On behalf of the Tulsa Juneteenth Inc. Board of Directors and the collaborative Planning Committee, we would like to extend a heart-felt thank you for your commitment to making Tulsa Juneteenth 2019 a successful event.

Due to CDC recommendations to prevent spreading COVID-19, and uncertainty about large public gatherings in the near term, the Tulsa Juneteenth Planning Committee has made the difficult decision to postpone the annual Juneteenth celebration to June 18-20, 2021.

While Juneteenth commemorates African American freedom, emphasizes education, and celebrates the rich heritage of Greenwood, the new health precautions and need for social distancing has limited our ability to create a multi-arts experience that will be safe for our audience.

Although we cannot celebrate in person this year, we encourage everyone to use #IAMJUNETEENTH and #TulsaTogether to share how you plan to honor Juneteenth while social distancing.

Trump and his supporters get a happy feeling lying. It’s a little fun game for them

No second wave coming because Trump and his supporters made sure the first wave never ended.

Oh brother! Nice try Einstein. The virus is indeed moving in waves. The entire nation was never going to get infected at one time! This is spread from person to person. It’s not seeded from the clouds. And this has NOTHING to do with the President, no matter who the president currently happens to be.

Tulsa’s official Juneteenth celebration is postponed this year, but there are a few other independent celebrations that are still set to happen.

7 local events listed, including block parties, a music and merchandise event downtown, Reverend Al showed up at one event, more at the link.

Maybe the masks helped. Go figure.

Oh no no no. If there was anyone other than Trump they would have these numbers magically reduced.  People don’t understand that one of the main reasons we have more cases (other than the likely reason that we test more) is that because of the freedoms we have. People are suspicious of government. They don’t like to be told what to do. A mandatory federal mask order would have done virtually nothing.  Well it would have prompted people to call Trump a dictator for circumventing States Rights. ?
