Correct, Ron Ely, star of the tv show Tarzan. Also star of the film Doc Savage: The Man of Bronze. His wife was stabbed to death by their son, who was then shot dead by police.

As Gen Xers, we'd see him perform on TV all the time in syndication with the other members of his comedy team. He looks much different at the time of the photo than he used to look while performing.

Yes, this is "Spanky" McFarland from the Our Gang/Little Rascals comedies!

 

The picture is from 1952 when he was in the Air Force.

He was on a Cheers episode as an adult as one of the patrons in the bar..
