The Cleveland Browns could be without a key defender for the rest of the season.

NFL Network Insider Ian Rapoport reported Friday that safety Morgan Burnett is believed to have suffered a torn Achilles in Thursday night's 21-7 win over the Pittsburgh Steelers, per a source informed of the situation.

Burnett is expected to have an MRI on Friday. If the test confirms the diagnosis, Burnett would be out for the season.

Ouch.  The Achilles rupture is about as bad an injury as a player can have.  Players tear their ACL these days and routinely come back after 9 months to a year.  They may be less effective for a while, but most eventually recover completely.  I'll be surprised if Burnett plays next year, and as a DB, he may never be as effective as he needs to be.

We shouldn't ever be happy when a player is injured.  He's a person, probably with a family, and this is how he earns a living.

I am however very happy that Garrett was suspended.  I think maybe a full season suspension next year would get the point across that this is the very definition of "unacceptable."

Sherman has finally come back and is playing well.  At some point I think Sherman will move to FS like Woodson did for the latter part of his career.

I think you are correct. He won't play at all next year and he will be ok for 2021.

I think it's a bit of a stretch to call that one head hunting. It looks to me like one of those unfortunate but not really intentional hits:

That was the good old double head shot, breaks my heart he tore a tendon, poor baby.
