I love going home.

After looking at the:  hotel tax, meal tax, car rental tax, gas price, etc.,  I love it too but quickly remember why I don't live there anymore.  And despite all that, I do get to Chef's at least a couple of times.

/smh

There are 10 million people in the region where I live and all those things that you mentioned are higher here.  Why am I living here? LoL...

Cost of living is pretty low in WNY.  Who lives in a hotel, goes out to eat every night and rents a car? LoL...

Seems this is more your speed:

Can't wait to hit the town, get some weck and wings, have a beer. I love Buffalo.

I drove up from Long Island over Columbus Day weekend to see my mom and family. On my way out I hit up Charlie’s for a beef on weck and picked up 30 wings from duffs and ate them with my kids when I got back downstate. That was a long, good smelling drive. I put the wings all the way back in the car where I couldn’t get to them.

Was battling nyc traffic a couple days ago and was in the phone with my wife, telling her that I can’t take living on the island and working in the city anymore after 26 years. I’d move back up to WNY in a heartbeat.

Actually ALL of the a'fore mentioned are "my speed!"!  I do stay in a hotel, as nice as I can afford, rent a car if I decide to fly in, eat out because that's why I'm "home," to enjoy what's not available where I live.  Ask any other fan that lives out of town and comes to a game.  The way NYS rips people who are visiting/passing through is terrible!

Huh?  I come home, it's cheap.  Try getting a ticket on a workman's wage in Chicago... T'ain't happening.

It ain't New York ripping you off. It's life choices.  It's rather cheap there. That's why love going back.  Been to 2 home games, one away... We go back every month or so.  Wife is driving back tomorrow for week.

It costs to travel away from home.  Check out your "life choice" tolls, gas etc.  BTW tolls are rare where we live.  If I have to do it on the cheap, I usually don't bother.  There may be better options closer to home.  The game's on local TV here tomorrow, so life is good.

I hope you avoid the food coma trap. I was much better this year, but I think it was last year that I went straight from the airport to Schwabl's, then hit Ted’s before checking into the hotel. It went downhill from there, as all the major food groups were represented. Pizza, wings, beef on weck, hot dogs, etc all crammed into one long weekend. Not enough “meal times” to do it all, so I had to double up on some lunch and dinner periods.   ?

This year, I remembered how gross I felt last year, and I was much more moderate in stuffing my face. Still a piggy, but more manageable.
