I drove up from Long Island over Columbus Day weekend to see my mom and family. On my way out I hit up Charlie’s for a beef on weck and picked up 30 wings from duffs and ate them with my kids when I got back downstate. That was a long, good smelling drive. I put the wings all the way back in the car where I couldn’t get to them. Was battling nyc traffic a couple days ago and was in the phone with my wife, telling her that I can’t take living on the island and working in the city anymore after 26 years. I do stay in a hotel, as nice as I can afford, rent a car if I decide to fly in, eat out because that's why I'm "home," to enjoy what's not available where I live. If I have to do it on the cheap, I usually don't bother. There may be better options closer to home. The game's on local TV here tomorrow, so life is good. It went downhill from there, as all the major food groups were represented. Pizza, wings, beef on weck, hot dogs, etc all crammed into one long weekend. Not enough “meal times” to do it all, so I had to double up on some lunch and dinner periods. ? This year, I remembered how gross I felt last year, and I was much more moderate in stuffing my face.
