Bass Pro Stadium.......it has a nice ring to it.

I like it......Build it right next to Marine Midland and the waterfront....why not and try and redevelop downtown....Casino's and hotels too!

It will never happen.

I like our current stadium. Plenty of parking. Great neighborhood, even with the Bro ( Hammer) next door. . Multiple routes/thruways to access it. The Bills chose wisely 30 + years ago. With the current lease and the age of our owner, the headline is nothing more than political grandstanding without any substance.

 Thank You

you are right, I'm going to change my tune.

The stadium should be red and blue, with a big observation deck so you can see Niagara Falls on a clear day, or you can look down on the thousands of people waiting in line to get into bass pro shops.

I like the toboggan idea, but why not a real ski jump? We might as well build it now so we don't have to when Giambra gets the olympics to buffalo in a few years. The downhill was going to be at chestnut ridge, but the rope tow is closed so they may move it to emery park in east aurora. (anybody ever ski there? Pretty funny stuff).

anyway, I'm sorry for all of the negativity and I CAN'T WAIT FOR THE NEW STADIUM!!!!

LOL great post.

A new stadium in WNY has about as much chance as, well, a hot dog in January.

Well said.  What a joke.  Talk about appealing to people's deepest hopes.  What a schmuck.

By the way, passing resolutions is cheap, but actually building stadiums isn't.

Here's how seriously The Buffalo News took this proposal. Scroll down, down, down...

city government is so fugged up, that it has been taken over by a control board.  In other words, Masiello and the city councilmen should all be layed off since their duties are now being taken care of by others.

I can appreciate your enthusiasm for the project.  Living in Buffalo for 45 years has taught me otherwise.

A downtown location will make it much easier for the Canadians using the New Peace Bridge

There is no need for a new Peace Bridge, since no one will be crossing with frequency, because they now have to shell out $$$ for a passport to go back and forth.

Build the stadium on a man-made island in the middle of the new Peace Bridge. Canadians can sit on the west side of the stadium, and Americans on the east, if they don't have a passport. They could even set up a Canadian Ballet club on the west side of the island. Have a special low-cost passport that allows people to go anywhere on the island when there's a game. By being in the middle, the Canadians could pick up part of the cost to build it.

You are a true visionary. I especially like the part about the Canadien Ballet Club.

I've often felt that a downtown stadium with a "great lakes/niagara falls" theme would be pretty cool.  How about a giant waterfall in one of the endzones?  That would make a good TV backdrop.  Also a good way for the EZC to clean the stink off.  Time for TBD'ers to start designing.

Good idea ! Tampa Bay has their pirate ship !

New Stadium?

What, are you guys nuts?  (Or have all of your economic problems been sorted out?)

298541[/snapback]

If a good economy was a requirement for a new stadium there wouldn't be newer stadiums in Pittsburgh, Detroit, or Cleveland. The WNY economy isn't great but the Bills are in the top half of NFL profitability and have huge fan support. A new stadium is just what Buffalo needs to ensure the Bills stay here in Buffalo for the long run. Besides with NY State handing the NY Jets a huge check for their new stadium, now is the right time to ask for our piece of the pie for a new football venue.

Tommy's got his period....

I just don't want to pay $1500.00 a seat personal license fee.

I won't be able to afford the 14 seats . I helped support this team for 27 years.

Maybe its good thing...we will have more blackouts so schmucks like you don't

get a free ride anymore.

Personal Seat Licenses. After the taxpayers built Mike Brown's Bengals a new stadium, they started with the PSL's. First thing they did was distribute a phony seating chart - folks who ponied up for a 40 yard seat found their assigned seats were actually on the 20, the 20 yard seats ended up in the EZ. It took a law suit for the B'gals to refund excess $$$ paid and/or provide the promised seats.

After a few years as people decided not to renew their season tix, the B'gals said they could not do that, that they actually agreed to purchase season tickets for 10 years or so and would sue any PSL owner who wouldn't pay. That took another lawsuit against the Bengals to stop that garbage.
