  1. I can buy San Diego making it to the Super Bowl but Dallas ain't gonna make it. Either the Bears or Panthers will represent the NFC.
  2. Every game this season has officially sold out this season although their a few of the Raiders home games this season have been close to being blacked out but the remaining tickets were bought up by corporations to get them on Bay Area TV. Arizona sold out all of their tickets before the season started because this is their first season in their new, much smaller stadium. Jacksonville is even worse in that they had to cover over almost 10,000 seats at Alltel stadium to bring the capacity of the stadium down to a level where they wouldn't be blacked out every week like they were the past few years.
  3. Last 28 home games approximately 2,000,000 seats sold 8,000 seats unsold The Bills orginization should be thankful there has only been 1 blackout in the last 3 1/2 seasons. Between putting a crappy product on the field for almost a decade and the success of the Buffalo Sabres (who have sold out their entire 41 game home schedule this year). I'd say the Bills fans have done a good job supporting the team. Maybe a few games not selling out will force the Bills to step up their game and make a few good player signings that will get the fringe fans out to the stadium.
  4. Just a reminder, the story about the Bills stadium is on channel 7 at 11pm.
  5. If Losman doesn't have a big day against the Saints on Sunday then there is no hope for him. New Orleans has an awful D against the run & pass. Willis will have a huge game again and Losman will throw from 200 or so. Bills 26 Saints 14
  6. This thread was made only to let people know that channel 7 is going to discuss something many Bills fans are be interested in seeing on Sunday night. If some of you guys fragile psyches can't handle people rationally discussing the Bills needing a new stadium.......TOUGH S#%@!!!! This conversation is only going to intensify until a new stadium is built and new ownership steps in when Ralph dies and makes a commitment to keeping the Bills in Buffalo.
  7. I just saw a commercial during the college football game for channel 7 Eyewitness News in Buffalo asking "Will a new stadium keep the Bills from moving? Sunday at 11". I'm just making this post to inform you guys of this special report about the future of the Ralph and the Bills in Buffalo. This commercial has aired a few times in the last hour so if you don't believe me turn on channel 7 and see for yourself.
  8. FOX TV Coverage map for week 3 Plattsburgh is getting the Bills game this week on FOX.
  9. Most banks have call centers overseas. Whoever you refinanace your mortgage with will probably have call center in India too. FYI, HSBC used to have most of its call center operations in downtown Buffalo but they let those employees go because they can save $$ by hiring people in India willing to do the job for $2/hour that would pay $10+/hour here.
  10. The NY Giants also permanently went back to their throwback uniforms. If the Bills ever did the same I wouldn't be upset at all. I'd love to see the white jersey version of the throwback uni as well. The Bills current look with the new age uniforms and the 1980's red helmet looks silly. They should have completely redesigned the helmets a few years ago.
  11. Suzy Kolber looks like a woman's woman.
  12. Adelphia's cable systems are being split between TW and Comcast. For example, suburban Pittsburgh has Adelphia cable while Pittsburgh city has Comcast. Camcast will likely take over the cable there. In the Buffalo area, Time Warner will most likely take over the cable systems since they're the dominate provider in upstate NY and parts of NYC.
  13. On a somewhat related note the Walden Galleria mall in Cheektowaga is planning a $50 million expansion that will include the upscale Cheesecake Factory, Ruth's Chris Steak House, and Abuelos Mexican Food Embassy restaurants along with an 18 screen cinema along with a pool hall and video arcade. Good news for those of us who are sick of average chain restaurants like Applebee's and TGI Fridays and want good quality food. The Buffalo News article about this is at: http://www.buffalonews.com/editorial/20050420/1071323.asp
  14. I spend several months in Ames and Des Moines, Iowa 2 years ago and you won't appreciate how decent Buffalo is until you've spent time in Iowa. All the "Best Places To Live" guides I'm sure you've read have raved about Iowa being a great place for families and whatnot. But I can tell you from personal experience that Iowa is a miserable, socially and culturally repressed, conservative state that your kids will be dying to get out of ASAP. Iowa is also lacking big time in the outdoor activity department. No large bodies of water or lakes near Ames and very few parks and wooded areas for recreation. Several of my friends originally from Iowa got their educations at Iowa State and took off to Minneapolis, Chicago, and Kansas City despite Iowa having a decent job market and low cost of living. That being said if you and your family must move to Ames, you will have no problems finding a decent place to live. Lots of charming, older houses in the vicinity of the university and plenty of new suburban type subdivisions too.
