Buffalo Bills could be surprise team of the NFL this season, says Mel Kiper Jr.

I watched this last night. McShay just said Darnold and didn’t offer anything other than that, and Kiper was like just because I said Allen doesn’t mean I don’t like Darnold. He just seemed annoyed like most Bills fans by all the Allen detractors. When he says he watched every snap of Allen’s last year they all seemed shocked like he didn’t, which makes me wonder if they even did.

Did he say something similar on One Lions Live? One Cardinals Live?

I’m sure he sees our promise, to some extent. But people just want to hear stuff, preferably good stuff, at this time of year.

Kiper has been a steadfast Josh Allen supporter. He was touting Allen before the momentum for him as a prospect was starting to gain speed.

If Kiper has a bias it is for the Ravens. And he would be the first to acknowledge it. He had an affinity for how the former GM (Ozzie Newsome)  built the Ravens, his hometown team,  and for his draft philosophy. I'm not going to get caught up in his glowing report of the Bills but I do believe that he is genuine in his belief that this regime has started to smartly put things together.

I like McShay but he reacted to Kiper's watching every snap of Allen's season as something that was impossible. So McShay doesn't watch tape after.

I'm fine with people thinking Darnold > Allen but let's not act like this is a closed case one way or the other. Especially in Year 1.

Exactly, was surprised that they were in disbelief of his statement.

What was he supposed to say on a Bills related show? “I think the dolphins are a prime team to surprise a lot of people!”

This is my thinking too...  c'mon Bills fans, wise up :)

At least he watched Allen play. It’s usually pretty easy to tell when someone hasn’t, but still goes on and on about how “wildly inaccurate” he is.

Kiper got ridiculed on that panel.  From the facial expressions, you would have thought he was saying he saw Elvis on the way to work.

It’s really not outlandish.  The Bills have a very talented, deep team heading into this season - being led by arguably the most competitive QB out of all the newcomers.

F@#!, Todd McShay!!!

Damian Woody is a Jets/Patriots Homer. Mc Shay is Schopp like, he has to be right. Who the hell are the other guys???

Lol.  In the 2003 opener Woody got blown up on Sam Adams INT return.  Can't tell who peeled back (illegal now) Might have been Fletcher.  And Schobel pancaked Brady!!!

Hope it happens again.

In this age of digital transformation (iPads, Surface tc), why do the people in NFL keep referring to it as the *"tape"*  !!!!!

Kiper had Allen going #1 early in mock drafts last year and was laughed at, and I think he probably felt a bit compelled to follow his rookie year closely so he could defend it further. I’m not at all surprised he watched all his film from this year and his assessment was spot on. He does still need work and so does Darnold. I feel like with Darnold, everyone seems to think he’s arrived and forget the bad stuff. With Allen it seems optimistic, but very hesitant. I think it’s all driven by the predraft narrative. Darnold was a very raw prospect too coming out with only 1.5 years starting and a lot of flaws to correct, but for whatever reason he wasn’t given that same narrative. I think like kiper said it’s ok to like both’s chances to succeed based on last year, but some may view allen’s Intangibles higher (I do)
