It's not a belief, it's a fact the meeting was set up by Fusion GPS on behalf of the Clinton campaign. It's a fact NV was only allowed into the country thanks to the Obama State Department intervening on her behalf at the eleventh hour. ( show me definitive evidence of this, not speculation, not linking dtaes, definitive evidence)

https://thehill.com/homenews/administration/341788-exclusive-doj-let-russian-lawyer-into-us-before-she-met-with-trump

Her work on the Magnistiky act was done in coordination and cooperation with Fusion GPS:

"Fusion GPS says it had no involvement in the meeting although it did work on a lawsuit that involved Veselnitskaya for more than two years."

he second line of evidence reframing the Trump Tower meeting -- after the Ohr-Steele-Simpson correspondence – was first reported in June by RealClearInvestigations. It shows that, starting in March 2016, FBI confidential sources and other figures associated with Western intelligence services and the Clinton campaign approached the Trump team promising damaging information on Clinton. The Trump Tower meeting appears to have been the most successful of these approaches, since it was the one instance where the Trump campaign signaled it was willing to receive incriminating information on its opponent.

These two strands of evidence – the DOJ’s collaboration with Clinton-paid researchers and efforts to connect the Trump campaign to Russia – came together in midtown Manhattan on June 9, 2016 at Trump Tower.

At the center of it all was Fusion GPS, which had two clients whose interests were served by the Trump Tower meeting: the Russians and the Clinton campaign.

Nonetheless, Simpson also testified that he had no knowledge of the meeting with Donald Trump Jr. and others until it was reported a year later. There is reason to doubt that account.

In fact, the Russian lawyer at the center of the meeting, Natalia Veselnitskaya, was his client.

She has publicly stated that she used talking points developed by Simpson for the Russian government in that discussion. Kremlin officials also posted the allegations on the Prosecutor General’s website, and shared them with visiting U.S. congressional delegations.

In addition, Simpson has testified that he had dinner with Veselnitskaya the night before the meeting and the night after.

(snip)

Veselnitskaya hired Simpson in spring 2014 for work that lasted, according to Simpson’s Senate testimony, until “mid to late 2016.”

Fusion GPS assisted Veselnitskaya -- representing Pyotr Katsyv and his son Denis, both Kremlin-tied businessmen -- in her campaign to repeal U.S. legislation sanctioning Russian officials under the 2012 Magnitsky Act, which was named for Sergei Magnitsky, a Russian corruption whistleblower who died in police custody.  Simpson, sources told RealClearInvestigations, was tasked with running a smear campaign against the driving force behind those sanctions, Chicago-born financier William Browder, who had employed Magnitsky.

(Again, this is real evidence, not speculation. Congressional testimony is the source, it's linked in the article.)

Those are facts backed by evidence, not speculations. (Show me)

* NV has a history with Fusion GPS which mueller omitted.

* NV met with Glenn Simpson immediately before and after the meeting.

* Fusion GPS had been hired weeks before by the Clinton campaign to run an informational operation agains the Trump campaign.

* See above links -- source is Glenn Simpson's testimony before Congress.

* See above links -- same source.

* On April 19th Obama met with Mary Jacoby, Glenn Simpson's wife, in the oval office in an unplanned/unannounced meeting.

DePYXLxWsAE-VdM.jpg

Within hours of that meeting, Fusion GPS is officially hired by Perkins Coie

Elias and his law firm, Perkins Coie, retained the company in April 2016 on behalf of the Clinton campaign and the DNC.

https://www.washingtonpost.com/world/national-security/clinton-campaign-dnc-paid-for-research-that-led-to-russia-dossier/2017/10/24/226fabf0-b8e4-11e7-a908-a3470754bbb9_story.html?noredirect=on&utm_term=.d26122365d18

This was prompted by Admiral Mike Rogers, head of the NSA, discovering illegal access/searches on NSA servers by private government contractors and FBI agents working inside two DOJ departments without proper warrants. Rogers not only shut down the program, he was demanding legal explanations for 702 abuses. Fusion GPS was retained to explain away these abuses by generating probable cause regarding Trump and Russia. Page 82-85 lay it out: https://www.dni.gov/files/documents/icotr/51117/2016_Cert_FISC_Memo_Opin_Order_Apr_2017.pdf

Again these are facts, not speculations. Backed by Congressional testimony, White House visitor logs, employment histories, and official government reports from the FISC and DNI.

This is the irony which you haven't quite caught up with yet.

Walk this out:

* Clinton hired Fusion GPS, officially to do "oppo research" on Trump for her campaign.

(I've covered the real reason they were hired, but it's the same end goal: Clinton hired Fusion GPS to help her win an election.)

* Fusion GPS then hires a foreign spy, Christopher Steele, to find dirt on Trump/Russia. In order to accomplish that goal, Christopher Steele paid Russian intelligence assets through two different cut outs (Fusion GPS and Perkins Coie) on behalf of Clinton's campaign for disinformation to spread about her opponent

That's a fact. That happened.

And that's Clinton not just meeting with Russians, but paying for them for dirt.

So, again, I ask you, does your moral outrage go deep enough to be appalled at the actual collusion/conspiracy with a "hostile/adversarial" foreign nation?

This was nefarious - just not in the way the mueller report wants you to think. It's nefarious because NV wasn't there on behalf of Putin but on behalf of fusion GPS and the Clinton campaign. There were crimes committed here.( prove this beyond a reasonable doubt, as you want the flip side to be)

It's all above. Read all those articles in full. Read the links. Read the sources.

Every single person in that meeting not named Trump or Kushner had direct ties to Clinton or Fusion GPS. The translator used in the meeting was Hillary's personal translator while she was at State (that's not an accident). Manafort worked with Podesta for decades (and I believe him to be a plant). And NV worked with Glenn Simpson and Fusion GPS for years.

The entire meeting was created for optics. To create enough media coverage/stories about how it appears to be crooked so the Clinton campaign could use it against Trump in the final months of the election and so the FBI could generate a circular intel loop of reporting which they then used to create a predicate for their FISA requests on Carter Page and others.

It was a set up.

The meeting was created for optics- "to create enough media coverage/stories about how it appears to be crooked so the Clinton campaign could use it against Trump in the final months of the election"

The Clinton campaign did not use it to create stories in the final months of the election. The meeting wasn't known about publicly until 2017 when Kushner had to revise his security clearances.

The Clinton campaign absolutely used Trump/Russia hysteria in the final weeks of the election, relying on the dirt compiled by Fusion GPS (and others). The first "BUT RUSSIA!" shot came in the form of the Alfa Bank snafu:

http://www.slate.com/articles/news_and_politics/cover_story/2016/10/was_a_server_registered_to_the_trump_organization_communicating_with_russia.html

That Slate story and subsequent HRC tweet were timed because this was a coordinated release with Fusion GPS:

https://dailycaller.com/2017/12/11/fusion-gps-tied-to-story-used-by-clinton-campaign-to-attack-trump-week-before-the-election/

Of course, this story was false.

Then the campaign doubled down by leaking to the NYT's that the FBI were investigating the Trump / Russia connections, including Trump Jr's meeting of "Russian intelligence assets". The article cites Harry Reid who, at the time, was trying to push the dossier on behalf of the campaign and Fusion GPS into the media and FBI's hand. This article was about the dossier, as it covers nearly every charge in it outside of the tinkle tape - and the dossier was a Fusion GPS product:

I am not quite sure I follow the point here. I understand the links, not quite about the relevance of the White House group tour of 6 people, and where it points out it was an oval office meeting? I get the GPS and dossier connection, I agree that the opening of the investigation based strictly on that was bad..but i am missing the fact based connection here.

The bolded about previous meetings/entrapment cases is proven several times over in the three Russia threads, the article has a link to several other articles which discuss this in detail.

* It's a fact Alexander Downer has direct ties to not only the Clintons but Richard Dearlove of MI6.

* It's a fact that Stephan Halper is a CIA/FBI asset.

* It's a fact that Joseph Mifsud is a western intelligence asset/officer, not Russian.

All those people approached Trump campaign officials at the same time, pushing the same story. They approached Page, G-Pop, and others with "too good to be true" offers designed to create the illusion of collusion between Trump/Russia -- though none of these figures were Russian, they were western backed intel assets.

This is proven, as much as one can, with open source intel from multiple sources, including testimony and employment histories.

Mary Jacoby is married to Glenn Simpson.

The meeting was off the books, and came together in a hurry within hours of Admiral Rogers shutting off the 702 access to the DOJ-NSD and FBI-CID divisions. Fusion GPS likely was one of the contractors who Admiral Rogers exposed as having abused the 702 searches without proper oversight or a warrant. That means Fusion GPS was exposed. So Obama meets with Mary to create a firewall between this development and what happened the very next day:

Fusion GPS was hired by the Clinton campaign.

Fusion GPS hires Nellie Ohr of the CIA.

(a week later) Fusion GPS hires Christopher Steele.

(five days later) Chris Steele delivers his first memo of his dossier.

The reality is Steele more than likely did not write that first memo, Nellie Ohr did on behalf of Obama, Brennan, and the Clinton campaign. She compiled that first memo (which had the Michael Cohen in Prague bit) from the stolen 702 data. We can surmise this because of how the 702 searches work -- (watch the clips below)

They're searching the same NSA servers that these contractors were using (702 means Americans' information rather than global). They found a Michael Cohen was in Prague - but it was a different Michael Cohen. But when Rogers shut down their access, they didn't have the means to source their info so they just inserted it.

Obama met with Mary Jacoby to hire Fusion GPS to cover this up. The ONLY way to cover up what they did was to assure Clinton, not Trump won. Clinton would play ball and sweep it under the rug.

This is the true start of the "Russia collusion" delusion. It was to cover their own asses more than anything.

26 minutes ago, plenzmd1 said:

Christopher Steele paid for information from Russian sources while compiling his dossier. This is a fact, not speculation. He paid for that information while working on behalf of Fusion GPS who was working for the Clinton campaign.

Quite literally the Clinton campaign was doing precisely what they were arguing the Trump camp was doing with Russia. That's why this whole thing has been a wonderful display of projection. They were always projecting their own crimes and sins onto Trump. They were the ones paying Russians for disinformation and then using that disinformation to sway the election. They were the ones abusing the surveillance systems to spy on their political opponents.

And now justice is coming for them. It's going to be ugly.

26 minutes ago, McGee Return TD said:

They did use it. They just did it in innuendo by saying Jr. was meeting with Russian intel assets. When they say that, they mean NV. They dripped it out in the form of deniable innuendo because the FBI was using it as evidence in Crossfire Hurricane to justify the FISA warrant on Page (which they approved just days before these articles leaked).

The FBI had already been turned down twice for FISA warrants in the summer of 2016 (on Flynn and Trump himself). The Carter Page FISA was their last shot in October of 2016.

This last clip is important to understand why they wanted a FISA on Page after he had left the campaign (which he had in October of 2016). It's the "two hop rule". This clip discusses three hops (which used to be legal, now is not)
