That's...   That's not how accounting works...   The state of New York was not going to be giving Amazon $3 billion dollars to come in.  They were going to give Amazon $3 billion

If you promise to invest $5 billion and add 25k jobs at average salary of $150k someone will reach out to you.  Meanwhile there was no federal tax incentive in their Queens plan.  So if you also send a few million on tax lawyers, they'll find the same deductions that Amazon gets.

But as a small business owner I get eye gouged every damn day by the government and it pisses me off to see Amazon get tax breaks.

So it's being reported that Amazon is paying no corporate tax for the 2018 tax year after posting $11B in profit.  Does anyone know what tax laws and what offsets reduce their tax liability to zero?  The articles read don't have details.
