Apparently that is supposed to serve as evidence that these guys know what they are doing. Do you McBeaners really think ANY free agent of any offensive worth will willingly come here for the going market rate? Do you have any idea just how much you're going to have to overpay to even get one of those guys to return your call? There is going to be a MASSIVE tax on Free Agent signings for the Bills during the next offseason. That $90M is going to go pretty quick on the marginal-to-mediocre talent that will inevitably sign here. Not to mention that they are only going to bring in guys that know their Scripture passages as well as they know their playbook, so the talent pool is limited to begin with. The intelligent & rational among us will soon realize that Free Agency might as well be seen as irrelevant moving forward. When the postscript is written on Beane /McD it will show they really boxed themselves in with their slash and burn methodology. I know this season hasnt worked out like many would like, but this team wasnt built to win this year plain & simple. All these topics are just the result of this bottoming out process. Naturally we're gonna see a lot of negative posts while ur losing, but as we all know, this was the plan. Maybe this offseason will go as the Rams offseason was a couple years back. Where we pick up some talent finally & balance our offense to the talent of our defense. Also have some defensive guys that will need contracts. Looks like we'll have a very high draft pick which will either be traded to move down or an edge rusher will be selected. With that much cap space, we can make up for the fact that we might have to pay the tax and still get the guys we're after. This is an extremely young team, the free agents we'll be targeting will be mostly offensive line and wide receiver. And wide out is the only one of those two positions where we'll be paying a premium anyways. Don't expect every penny to be spent. mjt328 Posted November 4, 2018 Share Posted November 4, 2018 There will be talent available. We just need to find it. One year ago, the Chicago Bears were in a very similar position as us. They had a rookie QB with virtually no weapons, and a terrible offensive line. It was hard to get excited about their Free Agent pickups. Taylor Gabriel. Tre Burton. Bradley Sowell.
