Okay. Then let's hope each team sends out their 2nd and 3rd stringers in each game this season.

I'm sorry I didn't know he started against 2nd stringers in the first game.

Yeah im sorry this is habadashary. Nate looked just like this last preseason.

You mean haberdashery?  As in the stuff sold by a haberdasher, like men's clothes and accessories?

I think you meant "balderdash."

Jesus Christ.  You're an idiot.

No I meant habadashary. Because it gets the point across.

+1 for you though. 99% of people just go with it.

Balderdash is good though as well.

So he didn't make one play under pressure? Not one play running away from pressure to KB on the sideline?  He didn't have a TD pass called back to then just do it again?

I'm glad he makes it look that easy.

No Nate was always cerebral

So you think the game hasn't slowed down for him in his 2nd year? He is the exact same player as last year? Really dude????

I know I know fans want Allen in there, to the point where they distort the truth, be patient, maybe week 9 or 10 when the game slows down for Allen we can get him in there but if we put him in week 1 he will get knocked out or benched and this is coming from a huge Josh Allen supporter.

That's not true, Nate is throwing with way more anticipation and timing, his arm strength is the same maybe but intellectually he is way way way sharper.

It looks the same to me. He’s adequate to decent at a quick passing game. That doesn’t mean the coaches feel he’s a better option. Originally all things being equal I’d have gone with McCarron due to his experience . McCarron wasn’t very good and he’s banged up. I overestimated the drop off in the OL. So with that factored in I’d probably start Peterman. If Allen gets injured behind this OL he may not be able to return until late in the season and year one is lost. Better to let Peterman play while this OL is sorted out.

No no. Nate has improved. His arm strength has improved. But again. He will not be able to hurt defenses that are game planning against him because he only has 30% of the field to work with initially.

I have no problem starting Nate. I have a problem keeping a guy with equal overall present ability (strengths and weaknesses considered), as well as a higher upside—and proven ability for rapid development— behind a guy who can only throw to 30% of the field even with his improved arm talent that is still sub par.

I like Nate. I really do. But I still believe the overall offensive deversification that JA brings with his ability makes him the better choice to put on the field. More for defense to worry about...

I WILL SAY —none of that matters with no time in the pocket.—but if we have to go quick game I still believe JA = NP as far as ability to run quick shot offense.

I'll give him credit for a couple of nice throws in week 1 of preseason. We'll see how easy it is for him if he starts the real season by running the gauntlet of a schedule in September.  These guys are making it look easy too: National Football League Stats - by Player Category | NFL.com

Yes, not ever throw outs.

I’m fine starting him now in order to protect Allen and let him try to prove himself, but how the hell can even his most ardent supporters not see that he’s a pick 6 waiting to happen every single game?

But our OL is apparently atrocious and he’s expendable. I’m good with him as the starter to begin the season. It’ll either be really entertaining as a nice successful surprise or it’ll be really entertaining as a Comedy of Errors.

I hope you understand that deep down I share the same concerns as some of you. I have concerns that his play style will lead to interceptions. I also think it's a real possibility he will miss games banged up.

I'm not completely ignoring the opposition. I'm not exactly thrilled this might be the guy we have to count on getting the job done.

All I'm saying is that he looks good in preseason and that leaves me with optimism. 7 for 7 and a TD first drive is the type of thing I am salivating over after a 3 point playoff game.

If AJMcarron was doing that I would be on his thread talking him up. His thread doesn't exist for a reason.

Josh Allen is impressive. He didn't look bad to me today if I'm just looking at him only. I think he did more right then wrong.

I will be cringing like a lot of others if Peterman starts. Only I entertain the idea he might of grown up and isn't the same lost soul in that Chargers game.

His stat line from the 2017 preseason would appear to demonstrate that he has improved his performance this year.

At this point, no Bills fan should really be a “ supporter “ of Nate Peterman. He is what he is, and if he’s the  placeholder for very long  it only means that the Bills have failed to find their franchise QB.  Rather , they should be a supporter of giving Allen a little more time to prepare to make the jump to starting NFL QB.

Save the keystrokes 26 is king of the Nate Haters

But, why? Why hate on a guy who is a member of your favorite team? Dude's had a very good preseason,  and if he is named the starter it's because he's earned it.  26CB has redeeming qualities as a poster,  but he's showing himself to be a close minded hater. Not many worse things than that,  as a message board poster, IMO.

BTW- that throw to Reilly in between three defenders was a thing of beauty.  Nate has, at the very least, shown the ability to learn and improve.

It's because Tyrod was benched when people still believed in him. Peterman was the bad guy and being the disaster it was lends credence to thier view on him. Some people on this board didn't want to bench Tyrod for Peterman. 26CB was one of those people and I definitely understand it leaving a bad impression of Peterman on him.

I don't blame anyone for needing to see it in a real game to believe it. The guy they don't think can cut it is looking like the front runner. I can see that being frustrating.

Remember there was a time we all jumped on the bandwagon before saying Peterman can! I know I'm doing it myself and I did it before. I literally told 26cb that at the time Peterman would be better than Tyrod. I'm here again saying yea Peterman looks good just chill out.

I'm definitely on team Peterman right now but I can understand why some people choose not to be on the bandwagon.

Only one person is going to convince Nathan Peterman doubters. That is Nathan Peterman. I enjoy the discussion but I'm not going to change anyones mind.

It's going to take Nathan Peterman winning games in the regular season. If that happens I assume we will all enjoy it.

You shouldnt be a supporter of a player on your team?

I understand not championing him to be the future of the team.....I think every one KNOWS he is not the future of the team......but nothing wrong with supporting a bills player....in the end its about wins
