What a crockofshit. You keep claiming that you have the facts behind you but you really don't have any facts. Have you considered the "Walkaway" votes or the great deal of blacks who are converting to Trump? You are ill prepared to debate American politics and should probably just fade away. if you don't want to that's ok, we've worn out our last whack-a-mole and need a new one.

I'll fade away. Hope you enjoy life as the actual smug one. You're not interested in fact that disputes what you watch on Fox News. Disappointed to share this fine forum with a low-life such as yourself. You like getting personal, that's as low as I'll stoop. I'll go back to my good life here on the West Coast. You enjoy sleepless nights in your one room basement suite.

Second amendment rights over the lives of children? I know that a lot of Americans are single-minded when it comes to their right to bear arms. It has to be the single most frustrating thing to watch from the perspective of an outsider. The biggest problem that I have with it is that it is a "right ". Owning something that is designed with the sole purpose of killing another human is so far from a right. It is a privilege.

That's quite the syllogism.

I don't know how many times people have to explain the basics of US law to you.

The 2nd amendment established the RIGHT TO BEAR ARMS.  The language is pretty unambiguous.  There's nothing in the wording that even hints at the right being a privilege.

You're probably mistaking the privilege term from a vantage point of never having to make a difficult decision as a sovereign nation, but having the moral superiority to pontificate upon your patron.  Kind of like a spoiled trust fund kid.

Now, please tell me how your superior gun privileges saved people in Toronto in the last 6 months?

I've read each of your posts and while you've cited many opinions as "fact", I'm struggling to find any. You've told us how the "world" perceives the US, have deigned to speak for 36,700,000 Canadian citizens and how they view potential emigration to the US, how idiotic it is to apply any sort of business acumen to running the country because you run a business, and seem to think that the entirety of the problem (from a world view perspective) can be summed up by reducing the argument to "wealthy white males who are exclusively Republican who fear for their jobs (but only if taken by anyone  other than another Caucasian  male) who believe that a women should not have the right to terminate a pregnancy at any time of her choosing under any circumstance. 60+ million people boiled down to 4 or 5 bullet points. Remarkable.

I think....you are limited in how you see the world and your role in it.  You may be well-intended, buy you can't see beyond the end of your own experiences.  That allows you to speak for all Canadians, speak for entirety of the world (I'd bet there are at least 60m people who think your boy Trudeau is an incredibly weak leader, but many many more who don't think of him at all), and to Hillarize the election by placing all supporters into one neat little egg carton with 5 or 6 cradles.

With respect to your questions earlier, i would answer "yes" to some of your questions and "no" to others.  Which answers in the affirmative reveal why I support many aspects of this administration, and how come when I answer no to any,  I'm not a liberal, or looking to move to Edmonton?

Please back this up with some facts. This is one of the many false bragging points for this administration. Do you think that anyone with a grasp of basic economics is going to credit Trump with the current unemployment rates, that he loves to shout about, when the numbers have been on a steady slide since halfway through Obama? Minorities are not rushing over to this guy. He can't even get through the week without golfing and getting caught in a lie.

Because, you know, it's like I feel that if only US had sensible gun laws, all violence would stop immediately

Just this weekend, Toronto police deployed dozens of additional officers to deal with a disturbing spike in gun violence in the city. This shooting is not believed to involve gangs, which police have suggested are behind much of the recent gun crime. Heading into the weekend, there had been 220 shootings in Toronto, putting it on pace for a record year of violence.

In addition to a spike in shootings, Toronto Police have also been tasked with investigating several high-profile homicides in the last 18 months, including the van attack in April, the double murders of billionaires Barry and Honey Sherman in December and the case of Bruce McArthur, an alleged serial killer accused of the deaths of eight men.

I don't know what golfing and perceived lying have to do with this. If you are going to post down here come up with better arguments.

You used townhall and the federalist, which are both great if you're a conspiracy theorist. They both also point to the same poll that has showed to be inaccurate and all other major polls show no change. I know PPP is a safe zone for you, but you're going to have to branch out to get actual data.

You are the typical liberal who gets his panties all in a wad and has to let his feelings dictate his opinions. So, you have determined that I am:

Smug

I watch Fox News

I'm a low-life

My arguments are all personal

I have sleepless nights

I live in a one room basement suite

You claim that I'm not interested in your facts. Tell me, what facts have you presented? Face it, you got caught posting your crap on TSW and got lured down here in order to back up that crap. So far you haven't done a damn thing other than embarrass yourself.

Owning something that is designed with the sole purpose of killing another human is so far from a right. It is a privilege. Allowing it to be a right has allowed true pieces of garbage and people who have no business owning a weapon to, as of the end of June, commit 154 multiple person homicides in the US since January 1st. Why the hell would you not see the examples set by other countries, such as Australia who previously held similar beliefs and gun laws, who have set structer gun control laws with immense success? I have  had multiple people try and explain it to me and I cannot for a second adjust my thoughts on the subject.

What are Canada's gun laws and how did they protect the people shot in Toronto today?

Silly argument. Get rid of gun restrictions because a person obtained one illegally? Should we allow drunk driving because it still happens?

Maybe we should ban 200 mile Interstate police funeral processions for ex-employees:

And motorcycles acting as barricades against cars.

This list is endless on what to ban, regulate.

One mass shooting vs 154. C'mon, try and at least follow along.

You're using an FBI definition of "mass shooting" that would include the OK Corral and the end of the 1980 Iranian Embassy siege in London.

Lies, damned lies, and statistics.

My question was genuine.  What are the laws for personal gun ownership in Canada?

I'm willing to concede that the U.S. has more !@#$s present that shoot people up.  US also has a much larger population.

There were 220 shootings so far this year in TO, and this year stands to set a record.

What have your super strict gun laws done to prevent the escalation in gun violence?
