Yet Peterman remains the backup.  There's no pretending, they need to draft a QB.

wont know if Peterman is anything but a back up until they bench "not the answer" and give him a shot.  This team is going NO WHERE with TT, and maybe with Peterman, but no one will ever know if the Bills continue to start "not the answer"

The Saints pass rush was not pressuring Peterman... He had plenty of time to throw, unlike TT...

Tyrod had plenty of time to throw yesterday too. Let’s stop pretending like he didn’t. He was pressured at times but for the most part protection held up pretty well.

The coaches have watched Peterman through OTAs, minicamps, training camp, preseason, and now into the regular season.  If they thought he was better, he'd be playing.  Time to draft a potential franchise QB.

Some people are gamers, wont know until they play in the GAME.  its easy for a Def to make someone look bad when they share the same playbook.

Are these the same coaches that keep putting Tolbert in the game every week and giving him touches? Are we supposed to believe that there is literally nobody else available that can at least match what he does?

It’s also college.

i believe this offense fits NP better but some of you are completely underestimating the level of NFL competition he has faced so far.

Which is WHY, IMO, they should start him for the rest of the year. Find out what you've got BEFORE you get to the FA and Draft.

The cute thing to say is, "If the coaches felt Peterman was better than Tyrod, he would be starting".

As if it's that simple.

From the day these guys were hired, they preached "Every position is open to competition". Certainly...except QB. No new coach wants to add an actual QB comp while installing everything else from scratch. So as they look to build a new system/culture, they have the team vote for Captains, and sure enough, they vote for TT to be one of their guys. They, like many of us, NEEDED to believe this guy can take that step and not be a career back up.

Then the preseason happens. While Peterman didn't have a Russell Wilson "steal the job" performance, he was clearly the better NFL thrower of footballs. Then he returns to the bench.

Then he comes out yesterday, and picks up exactly where he left off. Yes, against a prevent D consisting of some back ups, but that doesn't diminish his throws.

Coaches know you can't pull the plug on TT until either you are mathematically out or his play is so horrible the other "leaders" ask for the change behind the scenes. It's like any other group of people in life. Politics.

Get real. Peterman's presence is not the determining factor on whether they should invest resources in a future QB.

why do you think you know that???? Because the coachs say so??????  soooo no back up in the history of the league ever amounted to anything?

No, he got the td on his first drive, the second one they did nothing. And all of his fans here are saying it proves he deserves to start cause he scored a garbage time TD and made some throws

Incorrect.

His first drive had 1 first down and a ball that went through KB hands for a first down and what appeared to be our only audible of the game - stopped on 4th down.

The second drive he continued doing the same things as the first drive and his preseason and moved the team to a TD.

He had more yards in 1 drive than TT had all game.  That includes the end of the 3rd quarter and the 4th where the Saints defense was in the same prevent and TT still could not move the ball.

Team management and the coaching staff are at a key decision point.  If you look at the next 3 games, Chargers, Chiefs, and Patriots, in the context of what we witnessed the last 2 weeks, it's hard not to conclude the Bills are going to be looking at 5-7 after that 3 game stretch.  All 3 have pretty decent defenses and you can expect more of the same as the Jets and Saints defenses did to the Bills offense.  8, 9 in the box with McCoy hit 3 yard behind the line on almost every run and lots of short passes.  And compounding the problem of a feeble offense, all of a sudden the Bills defense looks slow and tired.

You go to Peterman now for a few reasons.  1) Let's be honest, this season is circling the drain now, 2) Tyrod is a real stand-up guy but he just doesn't have the 'it' a franchise QB needs, 3) you need to see if Peterman has 'it' or get enough good starts out of he to determine if he can develop into a franchise QB, 4) and if not you need to seriously start doing your homework on the QB draft class and understand what you have and what it will take to be/get into a position on the board to pick one.
