Stay Classy Trump

Recommended Posts

The tweet doesn't make policy change, it announces a policy change, and does not invalidate the policy change it announces.

It does not say that the Pentagon "was studying the matter and came to no conclusion". It said that no policy change would come into place until the process of policy change was completed.

Further, your CNN headline link states that the Join Chiefs were unaware that Trump planned to communicate the upcoming policy change to the public via tweet. The article you linked says no such thing, and even if it did, what business is it of the Joint Chiefs how the President chooses to announce plans to change policy?

Because those are the people who have to formulate plans on how to implement the changes and they need to have a heads up since it impacts people currently serving. It's not that hard to figure out.

The Chumpster's announcement by tweet was on a whim with no specifics is certainly not the way to make sweeping policy change. They were already studying the matter and had not yet come to any conclusion. Thus the statement of no change.

so what's your point droopy?

ok, so they can't figure this out without advanced notice? You're not really making a point here cupcake

I'll take this as your concession on every other single point raised.

But back to the hill you've chosen to die on, there is no communication that hasn't happened. Quote for me where it says there has been no formulation of plans.

I guarantee there is a plan for exactly this. The military plans for everything.

There is a plan in place to repel an alien invasion. There is a plan in place to conquer Canada and seize it's strategic resources. There is certainly a plan, or multiple plans to choose from, for walking back a few year old transgender policy.

And the president had a plan for changing the subject when the biggest mouths that constitute his base started giving him grief for how he was treating Sessions...so he threw his deplorables a bone, hoping they will look the other way as he forces their AG out...he's pretty transparent...no pun intended.

Do you have a point? I mean other than to alienate people by calling them deplorable.

No concession on any point and it shouldn't come as any surprise to you that Rump would make an announcement w/o thinking through all of the ramifications while leaving the details for others to figure out. That is his demonstrated pattern and I have no problem believing the report and drawing corroborating inferences from what was put out officially.

As far as the military planning for everything....not with this bombastic impetuous guy currently occupying 1600.

Well, if you haven't conceded every single point, you certainly should have given that I just shredded every single point you made. Not a single thing you wrote stands up to the smallest amount of scrutiny.

You made claims with zero evidence, and read what you wanted to rather than what was reported in a biased headline designed to perpetuate a narrative from an organization who has been recently caught staging news events.

Stop being part of the problem.

You haven't shredded a single thing. I again quote from the official statement:

The highest-ranking military officer in the country said that the military’s transgender policy won’t actively change until President Trump sends specific directions to the Pentagon.

“There will be no modifications to the current policy until the president’s direction has been received by the secretary of defense and the secretary has issued implementation guidance,” Joint Chiefs of Staff Chairman Gen. Joseph Dunford wrote in a letter.

@CNN

Defense officials: Joint Chiefs of Staff were not aware Trump planned to tweet a ban on transgender service members http://cnn.it/2u1JNxo

Unfortunately CNN not longer has any credibility in this sphere, and this should be dismissed.

Do that if you wish, but there's an official statement out there that corroborates what CNN has reported. As you were.

Then link the primary source FFS.

That link doesn't say what you said it does.

I read this on another site. Thought it might help a lot of the snowflakes out there understand what the MILITARY as a whole is all about...From Sgt. Robert Bro...wn US Army.

Nobody has a "right" to serve in the Military. Nobody.

What makes people think the Military is an equal opportunity employer? Very far from it.

The Military uses prejudice regularly and consistently to deny citizens from joining for being too old or too young, too fat or too skinny, too tall or too short.

Citizens are denied for having flat feet, or for missing or additional fingers. Poor eyesight will disqualify you, as well as bad teeth. Malnourished? Drug addiction? Bad back? Criminal history? Low IQ? Anxiety? Phobias? Hearing damage? Six arms? Hear voices in your head? Self-identify as a Unicorn? Need a special access ramp for your wheelchair? Can't run the requred course in the required time? Can't do the required number of pushups?

Not really a "morning person" and refuse to get out of bed before noon?

All can be reasons for denial.

The Military has one job. War. Anything else is a distraction and a liability.

Did someone just scream "That isn't Fair"? War is VERY unfair, there are no exceptions made for being special or challenged or socially wonderful.

YOU change yourself to meet Military standards. Not the other way around.

I say again: You don't change the Military... you must change yourself.

The Military doesn't need to accomodate anyone with special issues. The Military needs to Win Wars.

If any of your personal issues are a liability that detract from readiness or lethality... Thank you for applying and good luck in future endeavors. Who's next in line?

Some douchebag of a POTUS we have... Stay Classy... What a dumpster fire of a person he is. Lacks character, but let the enablers enable.

Our Scout Council and Districts just apoligized via e-mail for the Trumpamaniac not acting classy and for NOT living up to Scout values. Here's the email:

"Dear Scouting Families,

The Pathway to Adventure Council sent a contingent of 209 Scouts to the National Jamboree this year for two weeks full of adventure, community service, friendships, and positive once-in-a-lifetime experiences.

While Scouts on the ground have been focused on having the time of their lives, we know the Jamboree has been seen differently by some here at home. As your local leadership team, we want to extend a sincere apology for the political rhetoric that was injected into the presidents speech on Monday.

The custom of inviting every sitting president since 1910 to speak at the Jamboree aligns with our program's duty to country, which teaches Scouts to become participatory citizens. However, this speech parted with the long-standing tradition of presidents from both parties who have delivered non-partisan, motivational words to the next generation of leaders.

We echo the sentiments included in the letter below from The Boy Scouts of Americas top executive. Scouting is apolitical. It stands for qualities such as trustworthiness, loyalty, helpfulness, and kindness, which transcend politics and policy. It is a uniting force that we hope you will continue to support as we work to give young people the tools they need to succeed now and throughout their lives.

Sincerely,

Scouting Family,

In the last two weeks, we have celebrated the best of Scouting at our 20th National Jamboree with nearly 40,000 participants, volunteers, staff and visitors. The 2017 National Jamboree has showcased and furthered the Scouting mission by combining adventure and leadership development to give youth life-changing experiences. Scouts from Alaska met Scouts from Alabama; Scouts from New Mexico met those from New York, and American youth met youth from 59 other countries.

Over the course of ten days, Scouts have taken part in adventures, learned new skills, made new and lasting friendships and completed over 200 community service projects that offered 100,000 hours of service to the community by young men and women eager to do the right thing for the right reasons.

These character-building experiences have not diminished in recent days at the jamboree Scouts have continued to trade patches, climb rock walls, and share stories about the days adventures. But for our Scouting family at home not able to see these real moments of Scouting, we know the past few days have been overshadowed by the remarks offered by the President of the United States.

I want to extend my sincere apologies to those in our Scouting family who were offended by the political rhetoric that was inserted into the jamboree. That was never our intent. The invitation for the sitting U.S. President to visit the National Jamboree is a long-standing tradition that has been extended to the leader of our nation that has had a Jamboree during his term since 1937. It is in no way an endorsement of any person, party or policies. For years, people have called upon us to take a position on political issues, and we have steadfastly remained non-partisan and refused to comment on political matters. We sincerely regret that politics were inserted into the Scouting program.

While we live in a challenging time in a country divided along political lines, the focus of Scouting remains the same today as every day.

Trustworthiness, loyalty, kindness and bravery are just a few of the admirable traits Scouts aspire to develop in fact, they make up the Scout Oath and Scout Law.

As part of our programs duty to country, we teach youth to become active citizens, to participate in their government, respect the variety of perspectives and to stand up for individual rights.

Few will argue the importance of teaching values and responsibility to our youth not only right from wrong, but specific positive values such as fairness, courage, honor and respect for others.

For all of the adventure we provide youth such as hiking, camping and zip-lining, those activities actually serve as proven pathways and opportunities to develop leadership skills and become people of character.

In a time when differences seem to separate our country, we hope the true spirit of Scouting will empower our next generation of leaders to bring people together to do good in the world.

Yours in Scouting,

I admire your passion when it comes to boy scouts, but I'm sure these kids are going to get over Trump talking about the health care bill for 15 seconds. Based on Trump's previous behavior, it's a risk for any organization in America to invite Trump to give a speech if you're highly worried he may go off script and try to make a political point.

Hey, I wasn't necessarily talking about you TYTTT, just the part of his base that will appreciate this move. Those are the people that this move was set to appease...the ones who are upset about Trump messing with their dram AG, Jeff Sessions. And it will appease some of them, no doubt. Those people are deplorable in my book.

That is his base right now... who else is he trying to appeal to ,when he goes on these campaign rallies, six months into office, and starts ramping up the racist bull ****, and attacking the most vulnerable people...reasonable people who supported him (and there are some reasonable people who voted for him, I concede) are starting to get tired of his rhetoric. Their starting to see him for what he is. He needs the cheering crowds...and once he has them, no telling what the hell he will say...it seems like he does't even know sometimes...he has the impulse control of a very small baby.

To your original point, about the military having a plan, I am sure you are correct. There seems to be growing reports (all fake news no doubt) that Mattis and the Joints Chiefs of Staff were "blindsided" by Trvmps' tweet. No doubt, they new it was on the agenda, but they weren't prepared for the president to tweet the proposal out...I am sure they wanted to do it in a subtler more nuanced way.

He's just a douchebag with not an ounce of honor... Decorum. Like somebody from PPP going to the MainBoard spewing PPP bullschit.

Absolutely no consideration of others, rules, tradition, etc...

Whatever, advances Trumps narcissistic agenda.

And yes, it is getting worse than the others, so don't throw the Strawman out there.

This is reality TV.
