Should Steroids be legal ?

Recommended Posts

The one argument I see that should be made is that people's actions have a direct repercussion on others in the NFL because it's a contact sport. In baseball if someone juices, they're running faster or hitting a ball harder. In football, they are taking those enhanced bodies and slamming them into other people who may not be similarly enhanced. I don't care about baseball players juicing. If they want a competitive advantage at the expensive of their health, it's their problem. But in football you're not just taking that risk on yourself, you are now forcing others to deal with the repercussions of your actions.

I am 38 and have been on TRT since I was 33 and it was the best thing I have ever done... Once in a while I take a little more but not often.. I am in better shape and feel better than I did at 24. I highly recommend it as people age. Recovery, sex drive, muscle mass etc.. is harder on us as men age.. For young guys not so much. Recently in AZ there was a huge bust with the Wellness Nutrition network which I just released a documentary on yesterday morning that I have been working on. Alot of athletes names are coming out that purchased from them. I will link it below.

Interesting topic which I happen to know a bit about.

Here's a fun fact - the US Dept. of Health put a ban on any funding for HGH/Testosterone replacement in men. The reason? The early studies showed large improvements in quality of life factors (energy, libido, lean mass gain, fat loss, etc) with minimal side effects if taken in a reasonable dose. The only reason Medicare covered estrogen replacement in women was for quality of life reasons. The government realized real quick that if Medicare had to cover HGH/Testosterone for all men who wanted it for quality of life reasons the costs would be astronomical so they buried it.

Look up the NEJM articles on testosterone replacement in men from the mid 90's. There are a few studies out there that were well done and showed very good results.

Lol - absolutely should not be legal!

This would basically require anyone interested in playing pro-sports to sacrifice their lives to take these dangerous substances... I have no clue where you got some of this info about teens killing themselves, but Football unlike Soccer has the 'head-trauma' factor at play as well.

Only Dangerous when you abuse it. I honestly don't see the issue with Steroids. I did a research paper on this very subject. (Fitness Specialist Major)

Like anything too much of it, of course, it will be harmful to you. People run into issues when they do what is called "Stacking" taking multiple steroids and PEDs at the same time during a cycle, but if taken under doctor supervision then it can be more helpful than harmful.

Steroids/PEDs are amazing. They help individuals recover from severe injuries, become stronger, and faster. But, I also see your point where it would basically require kids to take these substances to make it to an elite level, which a lot of kids do already. They would just have to monitor with more frequency and severity at the lower levels.

I think it is clear that the more drugs that are available to children, the better.

In this, as in all other things, Mexico stands as a beacon to the world of progress and prosperity for its people.

I agree. I wanted to comment on this post but when I heard "they do in Mexico" I knew it wasn't even worth the time.

The fewer drugs one puts into their body the better, contrary to what the pharma companies tell you. I agree for recovery from injury, but not to use them to become "faster and stronger". Edited by DriveFor1Outta5

Wrong. Typical non educated comment. Steroids are not dangerous, Abuse of steroids are dangerous. And you need to get a clue, if you want to play the sport for the fun and love of it, do so. To compete on the top level, you must do more. This will NEVER Change.

It's one in the same. If you HAVE to use steroids to compete then you will abuse them. It's all about getting the edge. At the highest level of athletics it's so close between the guys that make it and guys that don't. Not fair to make someone have to put synthetic substances into their bodies

If you make steroids legal in pro sports, then you're essentially making it a requirement in order to compete at that level. No thanks.

Yes, and then it trickles down to kids as something akin to taking vitamins. It's crazy to advocate the "safe legal" use through doctors. Great idea, let's hook an entire nation on steroids to make big pharma even richer. That worked real good with pain killers.

Yes. Above the age of 18 if you want to do it, so what? I love how people sit there and say this guy or that girl isn't doing it. Look at the top Cross Fit people, they are doing steroids

Anyone who has seen one of those "ripped" dudes on the cover of a magazine is on steroids...people are completely clueless about what is and isn't possible naturally.
