Simulated Mock Draft

Yeah, I hope we trade down a spot or two, but would that mean they take the top player we want?

That's the risk.

If Corey Davis & Mike Williams are gone, then it's a no-brainer.....trade down.

If one of them is there, it becomes difficult to pass on them.

I may have worked the board a little bit. Nothing crazy, moving down no more than half a dozen spots at any one time.

Round 1 Pick 10: Reuben Foster, ILB, Alabama (A)
Round 2 Pick 16 (MINN): DeShone Kizer, QB, Notre Dame (A)
Round 3 Pick 14 (BALT): Chris Godwin, WR, Penn State (A)
Round 3 Pick 22 (MINN): Cameron Sutton, CB, Tennessee (A+)
Round 4 Pick 16 (BALT): Justin Evans, FS, Texas A&M (A)
Round 5 Pick 14 (IND): Corey Levin, OG, Chattanooga (D+)
Round 5 Pick 27: Tanner Vallejo, ILB, Boise State (F)
Round 6 Pick 11: KD Cannon, WR, Baylor (C+)
Round 7 Pick 1 (S.F.): Andreas Knappe, OT, Connecticut (D+)

Love the Cannon pick and also a fan of the Sutton pick. Without trades, do you think Evans is worth a 3rd round selection?

That's where I've got Evans graded. True center fielder because he can't tackle for love nor money but I can teach that. Can't teach his instincts vs the pass.

Same boat as Tedric Thompson from Colorado.

Love Thompson in the 5th round as a FS playing the SHS (SHS -man, or any zone coverage) safety role, I think he could start early in that role. Like Evans alot in the 3rd round myself.

Got a 2nd round grade on him. Best pure FS in this draft not called Malik Hooker. If they want him to drop to the 5th, so be it.

My Fanspeak draft was:

1) Corey Davis WR Western Michigan

2) Cordrea Tankersley CB Clemson

3) Rasul Douglas CB West Virginia

5) Chad Kelly QB Ole Miss

5) Nate Hairston CB Temple

6) Storm Norton OT Toledo

I chose to use the Joe D. approach of drafting and draft "cold weather" football players, with the exception of Tankersley

I'm in between you guys on Thompson--I have him as a R3 guy. Great range and instincts...overly aggressive and very susceptible to PA fakes; also not my cup of tea as a tackler.

Using the ITP board. Bolles at #10 might be rich for people, but I don't like the line depth in this draft and I like the idea of locking up RT similar to how the Titans took Conklin last year, all the defensive guys I really like were gone. Davis and Myrick are workout warriors, which is what I think 5-7th round picks should be used on. Budda in the 2nd and Zay in the 3rd is probably unrealistic, but clearly BPA skewing towards a need.
