Black Republican Father-Daughter Duo to Cast Michigan Electoral Votes

http://fortune.com/2016/12/17/black-republican-michigan-electors/

A black Republican father-daughter duo will make history when they cast their electoral votes for Donald Trump on Monday.

Kelly Mitchell and her father, Henry Hatter, are members of Michigan’s Electoral College. They are among the few African-American Republican electors in the nation, and a rare father-daughter duo.

Despite being barraged with emails, letters, postcards and phone calls urging them to change their electoral vote to Hillary Clinton, Mitchell and Hatter will vote for Trump, who won the state of Michigan.

Mitchell dismisses critics who suggest she’s betraying her race by supporting Trump. “I don’t really worry about what other people who say to me about race or how I should vote,” Mitchell told the Associated Press. “It’s been what’s right for and worked for me. I make no apologies.”

That is quite a revealing picture.

I'm genuinely not sure how anyone can look at that red and not come to the conclusion that the DNC got its ass kicked beyond belief.

Of course, these are the same people who think Barry had eight years of no scandals, Benghazi was caused by a Youtube video and the reason Clinton lost is because American doesn't want a female president.

Hold on, Clinton lost because of Fox News. Or was it the Russians? The FBI? Obama?

Damn, so many reasons she lost, because we all know it can't be because she was a crap candidate.

PEACEFUL TRANSITION: Pennsylvania Electors Getting Police Protection For Monday’s Vote.

One elector, Ash Khare, said he and each of the 19 others have been assigned a plainclothes state police trooper for protection.

“I’m a big boy,” said Khare, an India-born engineer and a longtime Republican from Warren County, who estimates he receives 3,000 to 5,000 emails, letters, and phone calls a day from as far away as France, Germany, and Australia. “But this is stupid. Nobody is standing up and telling these people, ‘Enough, knock it off.’ ”

It’s going to be a long four years — at least — of battling Democrats’ uncivil behavior.

OF COURSE THEY DO: Media Move To Delegitimize Trump’s Win.

Many in the national press have taken on the role of discrediting President-elect Trump’s victory, just days before the Electoral College is set to meet and officially make Trump the next president of the United States.

Because of mounting evidence that Russian hackers stole the emails of Democratic leaders and the FBI’s public condemnation of Hillary Clinton’s private email server, liberal New York Times columnist Paul Krugman said the election was “illegitimate.”

“So this was a tainted election,” he said in an op-ed this week. “It was not, as far as we can tell, stolen in the sense that votes were counted wrong, and the result won’t be overturned. But the result was nonetheless illegitimate in important ways; the victor was rejected by the public, and won the Electoral College only thanks to foreign intervention and grotesquely inappropriate, partisan behavior on the part of domestic law enforcement.”

Last weekend on CBS’s “Face the Nation,” liberal Slate writer Jamelle Bouie also said the hacking had cast a shadow on Trump’s win, rendering it a farce.

Well, if Paul Krugman and Jamelle Bouie think the election of a Republican was illegitimate. . . .

Not that it necessarily matters, but looking at maps that don't take population or electoral count into play can be a little deceiving, hence cartograms.

For example, this is a much more accurate view of the election:

1000px-Cartogram%E2%80%942016_Electoral_

but looking at all that blue and where it lies is important. Additionally the amount of firepower there is beyond ridiculous with the media ability to push and push and push...

The republicans will reign for a decade if the blues can't put themselves in check

The electoral system and the way many district lines are drawn already favor Republicans, I don't think it really matters what Democrats do, Republicans will continue to hold power for some time to come.

Dems would have to win the popular vote by 9% to win control of the House

checks and balances by the house and such should balance that out. However, they don't which is the point of the will of the people. Its not the democrat party.

Somehow these people can't get their stories straight.

See, now this is where they need Susan Rice. She got the story straight. AND said it with a straight face to boot.

We Get It, New York and D.C. Editorial Boards, You Can’t Stand Trump.
by Jim Gerharty
Here’s what you’re missing if you haven’t perused the New York Times op-ed page, today…

http://www.nytimes.com/pages/opinion/index.html

* The editorial board calls for an end to the Electoral College, an urgent national priority that did not seem to bother them before Election Day.

* David Leonhardt argues that Republicans win because they’re meaner and tougher and willing to rewrite the rules, and the only way Democrats will win is if they do the same. (Oddly, he doesn’t mention Harry Reid nuking the filibuster for presidential nominees.)

* Desmond Lachlan argues that Trump’s trade policies will “lead to a significant widening of the budget deficit and to a corresponding decline in public savings.”

* Mimi Swartz argues that Rick Perry and Rex W. Tillerson are ruthless Texans, and self-evidently terrible picks for the cabinet: “If you stop to consider a “Dancing With the Stars” contestant (Mr. Perry) making decisions about the nation’s nuclear arsenal, well, that way lies madness.”

* Omri Boehm contemplates whether even a limited embrace of Trump by Jews represents a betrayal of Jewish values and concludes, “The comparisons between Trump and Hitler — more prevalent in pre-elections articles than today — will hopefully prove entirely exaggerated.”

Meanwhile, over on the op-ed page of the Washington Post
* the editorial board calls for a special Congressional committee to investigate Russian mischief and propaganda efforts in the election: “Russian propaganda outlets and some organizations in the shadowy world of fake news also chipped in to erode Ms. Clinton’s candidacy.”
* Richard Cohen writes that Trump’s nominee to be U.S. ambassador to Israel, David Friedman, is “a danger to peace in the Middle East, to American lives, to moderation and to civil discourse.”
* Catherine Rampell writes that Trump’s nominee to be director of the Office of Management and Budget “seems poised to help Trump ignite another worldwide financial crisis.”
* Michael Gerson writes “the president-elect seems to offer equal chances of constitutional crisis and utter, debilitating incompetence.”
* Eugene Robinson writes that the incoming president wants America “working with Putin, who supports the continued rule of barbarous dictator Bashar al-Assad. Are you ready for that, Republicans? Have you seen the pictures from Aleppo?”

In short, everything on the op-ed pages of these major papers is about President-elect Trump in one way or another, and everything is arguing that he is wrong: wrong on economics, wrong on foreign policy, wrong on social policy, wrong in his appointments, wrong on ethics, and arguably wrongly elected.
I’m a longtime critic of Trump, and even I find this tiresome.
Each one of these topics is fair to debate, but having the page filled with one variation of “Trump is just the worst” after another turns into a numbing drum-beat that’s very easy to tune out.

Exactly.

They don't learn. Screaming racist at everybody/everything == tune out. It's like they never read "The Boy Who Cried Wolf". It's literally amazing that a story that is on the 1st grade reading list, and the lesson it contains, somehow eludes people with 4 year degrees.

Easy to tune out suggests that they haven't already been tuned out. Poor Jim doesn't realize he's behind the curve, but, at least he's on the curve.

Two things they are doing that they are really going to wish they hadn't, and if they don't cut it out they are only going to get worse:

1. Setting the lowest possible expectations for Trump. Consider: what if Trump only does half of the terrible things they assert(not that he will but just for this point)? Then by definition, he has succeeded. Hey, he did better than they expected. IF this behavior continues they will be responsible for handing re-election to Trump. Here's how:

Assume Trump brings just 5k manufacturing jobs back to the USA. The expectation is now set by the media that he will bring back 0, because Obama didn't, and therefore, it must be "impossible". If Trumps brings back those jobs, he now gets credit for literally doing the impossible!:lol: I didn't say it was impossible. No. The media did. So they are responsible for every time Trump "succeeds" by beating their low expectation.

How stupid are these people?

2. Making it damn near impossible to separate real racism from phony charges.

Duke. Lacrosse. Case. They didn't learn a thing from that. Now, they are at it again. When you've already called Trump a Nazi or Hitler...what happens if a real Nazi shows up? What happens when a real military strong man takes over the country. What happens when an authoritarian leftist gets elected and nationalizes the media? What are you going to call them? Stalin?

Even from a cynical, political-gain standpoint, you can't gain anything if nobody can tell you've won. No. You gain politically when you prove racism, confront.it, and beat it. All these false charges do is distract from the real charges/wins against racism, so, even when you do have it right, and nail it, you don't get any credit.

Again, how stupid are these people?

It's amazing that they lack the self-awareness to realize what they are doing is 100% counter-productive to their stated objectives.

Bullying is tormenting, intimidating, harassing actions/behaviors against another. We've spent time and money pointing out and attempting to remedy the damage bullying does in school yards, playgrounds and general public and private areas of our communities. I imagine many snowflake families go to great lengths to point out to their children the damage done by bullying.

Do many of the protests against Trump's Presidency differ from bullying? They certainly aim to torment and intimidate Trump supporters as well as those who appear to be pro-Trump by virtue of simply obeying the law. Probably just another case of, "Do as I say, not as I do."

Cast off all lines: Sail On, Oh Ship of State.

FREAKOUT ON THE LEFT

The Democratic Party has been making a fool of itself ever since Election Day. (Before that too, probably, but that’s a different post.) An utter lack of self-awareness apparently disables Democrats from understanding that 1) they lost the presidential election because they nominated the worst candidate of modern times, 2) they have been losing ground across the large majority of America for a decade or longer, and now are at best a minority party everywhere except California, New York and a few other enclaves, and 3) their party’s leadership is uniformly both geriatric and corrupt.

A lefty named James Kunstler turns a jaundiced eye on his fellow liberals, and dissects their “Russia hacked the election!” theme:

The headline deployed everywhere last week,
“Russia Hacks Election,” was designed by the Deep State players to deviously lead the broadly dim public to think that Russia somehow interfered with the balloting process, which was not possible since voting machines are not hooked up to the internet. And then it was repeated endlessly by the cable news networks and the newspapers, under the number one rule of propaganda: that if you repeat something often enough, the public will swallow it.

This dishonest meme was also designed to distract the public from the substance of the emails disclosed by WikiLeaks — namely, the scamming and trickery of the Democratic National Committee (DNC), and the influence-peddling of Hillary Clinton and the Clinton Foundation, which had her flirting with indictment last summer, and only reinforced her already-established public image as an unscrupulous person.

The New York Times especially worked the “Russia Hacks Election” story to a fare-the-well, saying in its Sunday edition:

The Central Intelligence Agency has concluded that Moscow put its thumb on the scale for Mr. Trump through the release of hacked Democratic emails, which provided fodder for many of the most pernicious
false
attacks on Mrs. Clinton on social media.

False attacks?

What, that Hillary’s cronies put the DNC’s “thumb on the scale” against Bernie Sanders? That Donna Brazille gave Hillary debate questions beforehand? That as Secretary of State Hillary gave more face-time to foreign supplicants based on their contributions to the Clinton Foundation, and expedited arms deals for especially big givers? That she collected millions in speaking fees for sucking up to Too-Big-To-Fail bankers? That The Times and The WashPo and CNN reporters were taking direction from Hillary’s PR operatives?

Weird how NYT didn't think it needed a dedicated team investigating government in D.C. until now.

I wonder what has changed.......I-Wonder.png

if they succeed nationally like they did in NC than I am worried. Of course, they had cooper in the wheel house waiting. Nationally, Cuomo or schumer are regional at best

NON-BACKLASH: Michigan Student Made Up Anti-Muslim Hate Crime.

Several days after the U.S presidential election in November, a female student at the University of Michigan reported being attacked by a man who threatened that if she did not remove her hijab, her would set her on fire.

The student told police that the obeyed the man’s order before fleeing the scene and reporting the incident. She described the perpetrator as a white male between the ages of 20 and 30. University police alerted students of the alleged crime, and said they were “disturbed by this report of hate crime in our community.” The FBI was called in to investigate.

Now police in Ann Arbor have determined that the “hate crime” never happened. After conducting multiple interviews and reviewing surveillance footage, investigators found “numerous inconsistencies” in the alleged victim’s statements, which led them to conclude that she made it all up.
