Cruz became completely unhinged this morning. We haven't seen political theater like this since Gore Vidal goaded William F. Buckley Jr. into threatening to "Sock you in the God Damned Jaw!" on live TV by calling him a Nazi. It cost Vidal an large undisclosed sum to settle it out of court.

I still can't stand Rick Sanctimonious because of his treatment of Romney back in 2012 after he had clinched the nomination. He very begrudgingly climbed aboard the bandwagon in the late hours of the campaign, but he was poopy diapers all the way. Cruz is dead to me now. And I voted for him.

I thought Newt did exactly that?

“Now I think you misunderstood one paragraph that Ted Cruz, who is a superb orator, said, and I just want to point it out to you, Ted Cruz said you can vote your conscience for anyone who will uphold the Constitution. In this election, there is only one candidate who will uphold the Constitution,” he said.

“So to paraphrase Ted Cruz, if you want to protect the Constitution of United States, the only possible candidate this fall is the Trump-Pence Republican ticket,” he added.

Says the guy who’s been Scott Walker’s biggest fan. The governor who’s had 50 “invite only” listening sessions since December. Oh sure, there's nothing Davidian about that.

You see, the problem with you Trump Davidians is you've become the right wing version of birddog and gatorman.

Like them, you have no idea what you're talking about, and yet you find something I wrote about Walker, turn it into a ridiculously extreme point that most anyone here can refute (I'm "Scott Walkers biggest fan?" Really?) and then you punctuate your embarrassing lack of knowledge by throwing in some obscure reference to listening sessions that has nothing to do with anything.

You couldn't make less sense if you were Donald Trump talking politics with Tim Graham.

So you go collect all of my "I'm Scott Walker's biggest fan" posts. Go ahead.

We'll wait.

Ok everybody, LA never said he was Walker's biggest fan. He said that he was rooting for Walker to win the nomination.

I'm sure most people here were smart enough to know that my remark was hyperbole. They didn't really believe my statement that you were literally Walker's biggest fan.

 Cool story bro.

How you guys continue to support Trump after he looks more and more like an ass who can't even manage a campaign properly is beyond me.

He's not run an ad. He spent no money last month. He's in a dead heat with Clinton.

Tell me how he's not managing his campaign wel again.

Now if your point is that he's not presenting a cohesive message, that he's a narcissist to a degree never seen, and that he has left behind intellect in politics, that's a bad campaign. But you can't argue his popularity with the mouth breathers.

But ridiculous hyperbole for the sake of making a point that makes no point is what the left does, not the right.

But then again, you're a Trump fan, and everyone knows Trump is a far left Democrat, so I guess it actually all makes sense.

Carry on.

I would argue that this has more to do with what a horrible month Clinton has had given the fact that her numbers have nosedived and Trump's have done nothing.

Don't confuse Hillary falling with Trump climbing.

When it's Hillary against The Donald, Hillary is 2-3 points ahead but in polls that include Gary Johnson and Jill Stein - Trump is ahead by a point

It's interesting that both sides claim that Johnson might ruin it for their candidate, when he's pulling from both sides, and Stein is almost exclusively from the left.

corrected. seriously, show me somebody right leaning that has come out for stein, or even a policy position of hers that lines up with Republicans

Johnson is pulling more from the Republicans than the Democrats. But also some of Bernie's "not-Hiliary but not-totally-bat-schitt-crazy" Democrat vote. The rest of the Bernie vote, the "bat-schitt-crazy-socialism-will-work-this-time" vote, is going to Stein

I have one friend who refuses to support Johnson because of the dust up with Austin Petersen, and won't vote for the two headed monster. She figures that at least her vote will still do some good to bust up the two party system. Totally irrational, but I guess it is what it is.

DEMOCRATS BEFORE CONVENTION: “We’re Panicked.”

Related: DNC replaces two Vermont delegates — because they’re men. :D

“State Sen. Tim Ashe and party insider Ken Dean were ordered to be replaced by the DNC so that the party could achieve a gender balance. Dean and Ashe have filed a formal complaint with the DNC’s credentials committee, according to the Associated Press.” :w00t:

When I was at the Democrat Causus, when it came time to pick delegate, a Democrat party dude got on the mic and said the Democrat party is all about showing diversity, so please try to elect a LGBTQ person or minority or woman.

GEORGE ORWELL, CALL YOUR OFFICE: Actual headline at the London Daily Mail:

“How Harry Potter can make you hate Donald Trump: Study finds J.K. Rowling books made people more tolerant and lowered their rating of Republican nominee.”

Emphasis, mine. If you’re “more tolerant,” why would you “hate” a political figure you disagree with, instead of attempting a bit of empathy to understand both what makes him tick, and what his supporters admire about him? - Ed Driscoll
