ziltoid Posted August 27, 2020 Posted August 27, 2020 (edited) When do they restart? When a different outrage happens? Edited August 27, 2020 by BeerLeagueHockey

They barely hang on as a major league sport (for what it is worth, i love hockey), you see the NBA dying before your eyes and a "group of black players" ask you to postpone to "demonstrate the importance of social justice activism" and they think that will win over fans? This tweet may as well go here: Well, he's going to be cancelled.

That said, I really don't know anyone who follows baseball and basketball any more. Just NFL and hockey. One thing I've learned from these pandemic lockdowns is that I really don't miss sports all that much. I follow mainly the NFL and NHL, but honestly if the NFL follows suit and cancels or postpones games? Meh. 3
KD in CA Posted August 27, 2020 Posted August 27, 2020 Why thank you spoiled, self-absorbed, millionaires who play a game for a living!! Thank you for making me "take notice"!! What a great contribution you've made to society! 4 minutes ago, BillsFanNC said: One thing I've learned from these pandemic lockdowns is that I really don't miss sports all that much. The other sports? Other than golf majors, they can disband the rest of the leagues for all I care. 4 2

Then again, the Billsy-est thing that could happen is for the sport to implode just as the Bills finally become legit contenders. It's almost poetic. That's been a running joke with my brothers this whole off season. 2 1

I don't think the next generations are as willing to buy premium seats & TV packages like us old geezers. The sports leagues are about to go through a reckoning like old media just went through 5 1

This tweet may as well go here: All the leagues are drowning in political correctness. They don't have the stones to stick to their business of competition and entertainment and remove themselves and the players from the polarizing social/political stuff. They'd be well served IMO if they operated under a policy of supporting some good causes (as they have over the years) and telling teams and players to express their personal and political views during their own personal time. Instead we have players/teams sitting because some jerk provoked police into an escalating confrontation. Edited August 27, 2020 by keepthefaith 1

Wish I could say that, but the NFL is the only sport I follow and this is the most optimistic I've been about this team since the 90s. I DVR the games, FF past the stupidity and I'm good. But it looks like the Bills have a special team and no way I'm missing this. 3

I agree with this, I renewed my Sunday Ticket (got it for free again), I've been bleeding Buffalo blue since 62, I want to not watch but have too, might be the best team since the early 99s, I can't think of a weakness, but it's all up to Josh
ziltoid Posted August 28, 2020 Posted August 28, 2020 (edited) I am that guy that has watched more than 50% of the hockey after the restart. And I am also that guy that does not make proclamations. The NHL did good kowtowing to BLM at the restart. But I am going to unplug from the rest of the playoffs. I know the NHL does not give a poop about one guy; better business decision to lose me than get “cancelled”. Oh well. Also just as big of a Bills/NFL fan, but if they pull this during the NFL season, I am out. Edited August 28, 2020 by BeerLeagueHockey 3 1
