To the contrary, free speech reinforces and amplifies injustice, Catharine A. MacKinnon, a law professor at the University of Michigan, wrote in “The Free Speech Century,” a collection of essays to be published this year.

“Once a defense of the powerless, the First Amendment over the last hundred years has mainly become a weapon of the powerful,” she wrote. “Legally, what was, toward the beginning of the 20th century, a shield for radicals, artists and activists, socialists and pacifists, the excluded and the dispossessed, has become a sword for authoritarians, racists and misogynists, Nazis and Klansmen, pornographers and corporations buying elections.”

THEY THINK WE'RE STUPID.

Kids are always stupid in college, let them have their fun, my age did dumb things as well

then you get a job and stop freaking out over what college kids do

For someone who likes to try to portray himself as an older, wiser soul, you sure do spew out a lot of idiotic, random crap. So much so in fact, that you're in no position to condescend to anyone.

So when I choose not to associate with blacks, I'm not racist.  I'm celebrating diversity.

Yeah, good luck with that!!

Don't you know? Minorities can't be racist. They didn't land on Plymouth rock, Plymouth rock landed on them!!

LIBRARIANS ARE GOING FAHRENHEIT 451 WITH BLINDING SPEED:

Anti-Oppression Guide’ spreads to multiple college libraries.

Funny how librarians are abandoning their intellectual-freedom heritage just as libraries themselves face obsolescence.

Seems unwise, but somehow typical.

Fahrenheit 451 is a great book. I highly recommend it.
