Bylsma on recent wins: "I think we've turned the corner...I think we've done it by playing better...by playing harder." Names special teams.

Bylsma on Ristolainen: "I think you're really seeing a guy mature into a big-time hockey player."

Bylsma: "Ryan O'Reilly right now is the signature Sabre. I know coming and playing against his old team will be special."

Bylsma says Zemgus is week-to-week. When they get back to Buffalo, he might have a more specific timeline.

NHL.com Game Preview: Sabres goalie Lehner to start against Avalanche

Season series: The Colorado Avalanche swept two games from the Buffalo Sabres last season. Rookie goalie Calvin Pickard made 28 saves, and forward Alex Tanguay had two goals in Colorado's 5-1 win at First Niagara Center on Dec. 20, 2014. Right wing Jarome Iginla had three assists in a 5-3 win at Pepsi Center on March 28. Iginla had six assists, and center John Mitchell and Tanguay each had two goals and an assist. Sabres defenseman Andrej Meszaros had two goals.

Season series: The Detroit Red Wings have won two of three games against the Buffalo Sabres. Brad Richards scored the only goal in the shootout in a 5-4 win Dec. 1, 2015 and Tomas Tatar scored with 2:50 left in the third period in a 4-3 win on Jan. 2. Nice to see Lehner playing well. That's a huge piece of the puzzle for next season when the Sabres rejoin the playoff conversation.

i did not see Friday night's game...thank goodness..but son said he played great.

 

Welcome to the dark side E of not giving them a chance this year...i just got there a few games before you!
