Garoppolo and Brady split reps at Patriots OTAs

What do you need odds for?

Well, unless all this speculation is just silly blather from people who think they have some special insight into the managing of the the Patriots.

Id start getting interested at 10:1, and would definitely take at 20:1. So somewhere in between there. Define it as an eligible and healthy Brady is passed over for Garoppolo at some point during the season. And an eligible and healthy Garoppolo is the week 17 starter

Then this thread is stupid. Of course Brady will eventually retire, or leave. And yeah, the Patriots hope that Grappuldo is good enough to replace him SOMEDAY.

Oh I thought you guys were talking about this year. I was on your side.

And yes, this thread is stupid.

Not sure what you're talking about. Bledsoe came back that same season, but not as the starter

Came back? Yes, in the AFCC game, after Brady was injured in the first half. He did not play in the SB, or ever again for NE.

This is not analogous to Bledsoe/Brady. Why not throw in Cassel/Brady? There is no open competition. It's a team getting their backup ready for 4 starts at the beginning of the season.

Unlikely they would have benched their $100M QB without seeing Brady play on the field first. The injury gave them the perfect excuse to do so and the rest is history.

And Brady is where Bledsoe was in that he's old and expensive. Again, it's the reason they changed their QB drafting philosophy and took JG in the 2nd, which isn't where you draft a QB to flip him for a higher pick. This just might be the opening for them to part ways with Brady. It's unlikely but never say never.

Bledsoe was not where Brady is now--that's a joke. Brady is at a sustained peak. Bledsoe was beginning a steady decline. Age is not a factor this year. No matter how Garappalo performs, he will not be the starter on week 5 unless Brady is injured. The opposite was true with Bledsoe/Brady.

If the possibility is as remote as this is, why even mention it (never mind start a thread about it)---just to conclude "hey, you never know"? So what?

Because a) it's still a possibility, even if remote, and b) it's the off-season.

Do you think it would really make a difference in said situation?

No because Boobie and Carrington have been around long enough to know they're not good enough to replace those guys. But again, like with Brady and Bledsoe, all you need is a chance.

the difference is we've seen boobie and we know what he's (not) capable of. Different story with Garopollo (sp?). Also the guy Boobie would unseat wont be 38 in August
