Fred Davis reinstated to NFL;update: signed by Pats**

Recommended Posts

He's a complete idiot and I won't want him anywhere near this team. DWI and multiple assaults.

That said, I guess we don't character anymore.

oh - forget it then. Surprised he was reinstated if he was convicted of assault.

Who cares about character? I want my doctors and police officers to have character, I want Super Bowls from my football team. Not that Fred Davis can get us over that hump by any means.

The Cowboys, Ravens, Patriots and Steelers all have players that have lacked character but they have rings. I want the Bills to get rings not brownie points.

1990's Cowboys were full of idiots. Won a few SB's as I recall. Perhaps he's changed. I'm all for taking the risk. Sign him to a low risk/high reward contract.

noooo. The Steelers are the "model" NFL franchise run by the most honorable person in NFL History the Rooney family. (that's really the BS most Steeler fans here believe. It's hilarious the hypocrisy of that team's PR machine).

domestic assault, or like bar fights?

I guess I'm in the minority but I don't want to root for scumbags. The majority of football players are good guys. Fred Jackon and Kyle Williams. I hate that we signed Incognito, Harvin, and may have drafted a woman beater. I'll give them a chance as a Bills fan but it feels slimy.

You can win without scumbags.

2 different accusations of assaulting women. Either he is completely unlucky or a total scumbag. Either way, he's not that great to begin with. I doubt he wil lever play in the league again unless the Cowboys or Bengals sign him.

We tried that in the Marv Levy GM era and we were terrible.

@AdamSchefter: Former Redskins franchise TE Fred Davis and New England Patriots have reached agreement on a one-year deal, per source.

Couldn't feel more fitting.

So, they signed Chandler and now Davis to add with Gronk and Hoho...ah...manna.manooie...? Decent stable of TEs, I wonder if someone might kick available as a roster cut-down guy? Didnt like to see Chandler go, couldn't see him coming back if he waa cut, but I would like it.

The Patriot Way  His rap sheet isn't much different than another TE they had a few years ago. They love scumbags in NE.

Part of the Patriots job interview: "Are you comfortable working "outside the lines" when it comes to NFL rules, policies and procedures?"

Also, as I recall, didn't the Bills bring Davis in for a FA looksee a few years ago, and then he ended up using the Bills offer to leverage more from the Redskins?

You are correct on Davis visiting the Bills and then shortly resigning with the Redskins. We were used as leverage for sure.

Yup. It was one of the those decisions that you lose out on but works in the long run. Similar to Tyson Clabo.
