If you want to talk about how he could have killed someone, you'd have to do the same with every case of speeding and the NFL doesn't want to get into that. Remind me where I said he could have killed someone? I was saying they don't need legal proof, and even if a shaky situation paired with another arrest you might see a game off. I didn't say you said he could have killed someone, but that's been the inference from more than a few posters. And while they don't need legal proof, they need more than just supposition. Drag racing, by definition, requires a partner, otherwise it's speeding, and that's why I was steadfast in saying that Dareus shouldn't have accepted the plea deal and would get off with a traffic ticket. If anything, the spice charge alone will be what may merit a suspension, but again he complied with the court's pre-trial diversion, it was a non-violent crime, and the NFL doesn't ban it. He's like Rochester version of Jerry Sullivan. Most people would have gotten a blurb in the police blotter and had community service. It would have been quickly forgotten. Dareus was front page news. It was dumb but there is so much double standard here. I hate Vick and think he is trash. But how many dog fighters have gotten the punishment he has? They have identified him as a core building block for the team. They won't just start trying to figure out how to work his deal under the cap now. 100%. Also it's a free camp so maybe there will be some lower income kids there, he can talk about how he overcame the hardship he experienced as a youth. I don't approve of what he did either but if it scared him straight and he realizes how lucky he was that he didn't hurt anyone or himself and it has led him toward needed self improvement, I think that's a good message.
