Chip Kelly runs player personnel. @Eagles: Coach Kelly will oversee player personnel department and lead efforts to hire a new personnel executive, a process that begins immediately. @JasonLaCanfora: Sounds like a decent enough compromise in Philly and Kelly clearly games additional personnel power. We would have been about 14-2 with that kind of production. Who's in charge of the defense? That doesn't fall under the Head Coach responsibilities? This sounds like Chan Gailey syndrome. It doesn't sound like he's placing enough emphasis on defense and he may have trouble getting good defensive coaches and personnel as a result. Sometimes it does and sometimes it doesn't. The point is, the offense was functioning and scoring more than enough to win with a terrible quarterback. That is Kelly's genius. You implied Sanchez was along with the coach that played himself out of the playoffs. Kelly is all offense. Yes he's in charge of the team and hires guys but his defense let him down, not his specialty and his crappy QB that he miraculously made not so crappy. We would have been about 14-2 with that kind of production. The Eagles averaged 29.6 points per game 3rd best in the NFL. Our D averaged 18.1 points allowed per game, 4th best. It would be like if Jim Overdorf became GM as far as career path is concerned. Whaley and Gamble are talent evaluators. The only difference between the two is Whaley is called the GM here and Gamble had a different title in Philly. They are redundant as far as what they do. The only difference between the two is Whaley is called the GM here and Gamble had a different title in Philly. They are redundant as far as what they do. i see - so chip is basically taking over Gamble's duties because he is pissed he was fired and doesn't want Roseman to do it because he's a cap guy.
