ProbablyWrong
Play selection is right. Penalties early didn't help, but we should have put that away in the 4th. This is on Hackett. Dorkington
Pretty sure I saw the Pats gaining as many yards as they wanted late in the game. Primarily using a guy with one leg, and a no name running back.

Chimp
They made plays right down to the end of the game the way they always do. This aggresive attack style defense sure looked like a mighty attack dog in the 4th. Another pinhead coach that cannot figure out how to take a few minutes off the clock at the end of the game. This is getting old.
RuntheDamnBall
The penalties are problem #1. Â No Fred Jackson and the clock management in the 4th quarter didn't help though. Marrone got schooled.

dave mcbride
Not sure how the Bills lost as opposed to NE winning it given that the Pats outyarded them by a ton: 145 yards. Craig in ABQ
Pettine must want to knock Marrone out. Man he coached a terrible game, start to finish. jumbalaya
Love me some Stevie "They can't stop me" Johnson! Â Agreed. Stevie blew the game with another key drop. He should talk after he makes a play not before. He is no better than Lee Evans. TJ Graham and Goodwin should both ride the pine. This is a man's game they don't belong on the field. If we had Gailey's offense today with Pettines defense the bills would be a possible playoff team. Gailey was also better with challanges and time management. dave mcbride
The better team won. The truth hurts, I know, but in most every category the Pats were better. Trader
New England's receivers were better than our receivers. Their running backs were better than our running backs and their QB was better than our QB. Oh, and their coach was better than our coach. All that being said it was a good game. Good teams find a way to win and New England is still the owner of the AFC east. They shut up Stevie Johnson on the scoreboard, the only place it counts. gordon_g
You don't run the no-huddle attack with just over 5 minutes in the game with a 1 point lead, DUMB play calling. Â Some things to be concerned about, but also some encouraging signs, that TD pass to Stevie was a thing of beauty. Â Overall not horrible BUT have to cut down the mental errors (both players and coaching)
clayboy54
CJ "2000 yard" Spiller was a total no-show today. Say what you want about Marrone. 1billsfan
That fourth quarter play selection and execution was atrocious. Buffalo's coaching staff did a piss poor job. That was awful. Â The hardest part about the combination of a young team and a perennial losing organization is learning how to handle the fourth quarter pressure. It's one game and I think they gain a lot of confidence from this loss. Â The AFC sucks this year and if this bunch can get it together they can make the playoffs. I'm still very much excited about the 2013 Bills.
RuntheDamnBall
Yes, but those chances we gave them were actually good plays by them (i.e., the countless third down conversions). What about the drive killing penalties? Â You can't evaluate a game on this kind of "what if" basis -- EJ completed at least two, maybe three third down conversions - one to Freddie, one to Woods -- that would quite possibly have made this a different game. Â This was a very, very close game in which coaching did make a difference. A win was within reach until Marrone forgot what to do in a clock management situation and left the back that NE couldn't stop on the bench. Freddy got some yards and CJ couldn't make his shadow miss, not to mention the fumble. Spiller let this team down. This is BS. Spiller is a star running back and our coaches don't have a clue how to use him. That counter tray running play they kept running every single running play suites Freddy's game not Spillers. Freddy is a find the hole running back and Spiller needs open field. That was the most ridiculous play to keep calling constantly. C'mon that's all we have in the playbook for Spiller? Â Some things to be concerned about, but also some encouraging signs, that TD pass to Stevie was a thing of beauty. Â Overall not horrible BUT have to cut down the mental errors (both players and coaching) Â The problem wasn't running the no-huddle given that there was a ton of time left. In fact, if you think that the no-huddle gives you a better chance to get a first down, you'd be foolish not to run it. THe problem was handing off to a guy who the Pats keyed on all day on first down, and then throwing a poor second pass followed by a useless 3 yard pass on third down. In other words, execution killed the Bills there, not whether they ran the no huddle or not. Again, there was a ton of time left.
