Max Starks: we didn't sign him, but the Steelers picked him up and he's looked good. We get no one in the offseason worth a sh*t, but spend 5 mill a year on a gadget player. billsfan714 Posted November 20, 2011 Share Posted November 20, 2011 How you cannot fix a defense over several years is amazing even with the addition of Dareus. Runningbacks are consistently 5 yards through the line of scrimmage before the linebackers fill. The lineman get blown out creating gaping holes. Other than the Redskins game there is zero pass rush. The corners are lost, never have an idea when the ball is coming. Edwards coaches a passive D, they're never up pressing, stuffing, just always back on their heels. Oh and thank god the front office as usual negotiates re-extensions when the player/coach is at the highest position(see Jauron, Fitz and KW), though the last one baffles me since he was under contract for several years. Its a usual bills season, a brief period of good play followed by consistent stretches of suckitude. Lastly, Nix is an overrated GM, has brought nothing to this team, anybody could of made the 3rd pick with Dareus. The players who do make plays were already here before he came FJ, GW. His additions largely have been misses like Spiller, Troup, Merriman, Brad Smith(anybody care to add up that payroll as a total percentage of the cap?).
