While, I wouldn't cut him, I say we trade him to a contending team. That money would be better spent in the trenches. Urbik, Wrotto, Pears, Rhinehart constitutes the "list", so one, maybe two of these guys will get a thanks for the memories letter sometime in the offseason. If I were to guess, Pears and Rhinehart are the likely goners! The John McCargo sentiment is strong, and I'm inclined to agree with that one. Does Ashton Youboty have a place on this team, going forward? I think NOT, so he is liable to be sent on his way. Levi Brown? Brian Brohm, after yesterday? Jon Corto? Jaruu Caulcrick? Aaron Maybin, when his Head Coach said his place on the team is tenuious. Re-sign Whitner? Again, the Head Coach said his place on the team is.... you guessed it, tenuious!! In Draft I go 1st pick Hopefully trade down and get an additional 3rd. 1st- DE 2nd - LB 3rd - LB 3rd - Offensive Tackle 4th - DE 4th - DT 5th - Offensive Tackle 6th - DT 7th - Best Avaliable Amen here, Green is definately cut but the trade down idea is one I very much like. Arizona and Washington are two teams who will be desperate for a QB. Get some real value with this pick by parlaying it into several picks. First of all...I don't remember reading any posts that suggested we cut Lee Evans. There has been some trade speculation, but no talk of cutting him to my knowledge. Personally, I would entertain any trade offers at this point, regardless of the player. The Whitner issue is a different story. He has been an average player in the NFL, and wants to be paid like he is one of the better safeties in the league. If he is not willing to be a little more realistic with his asking price, then we have George Wilson waiting in the wings to take over his position. I don't see much of a drop-off in talent there. So you can "embrace" all of the players that you want. I will be in favor of cutting/trading any player who does not fit into our future plans. Keep Kelsay. Depth is very important. Dude...Kelsey is terrible. Horrible in coverage, horrible against the run, cannot shed blocks. Did you actually watch him play this season? Wouldn't that make him 23 by the time next season rolls in? I grant that many players aren't drafted until they are 23. But we don't have to hold a roster spot for them. Plus they need to figure a way to put him back as a DE, not as a LB defending a TE in space. Why is it that all these cut lists have only players on defense. What has the offense done to have all the starters be retained. I believe Parrish will be gone due to Nelson, and Jones developing. I am also not sold on Hangartner. He's not a bad QB. Gailey said it: if he had a lot more experience, the speed of the game wouldn't be too much for him. He's the backup. He's not going to get the playing experience he needs to be able to come in and play as the backup. Catch-22. Do a Belicheck: Bring in late rounders and UDFA and let them play off against Levi Brown. Put the best on the roster and the 2nd best on the practice squad. Chandler. Shawn Nelson. Stupar. Bring in a real tight end. Bring in a lot of UDFA TE if you like, and see if one sticks. Ellison, McCargo, Woods. A lot of DL on the team, I would want to see what else is available and cut or keep on that basis. They save some money here and there (Evans, Stroud, McGee, Parrish, Whitner) and give up on the ones that have not shown anything (Maybin, McCargo and Nelson). Nelson just p!ssed away another season. Parrish and McGee are the only ones I could make an exception for. But Parrish never did anything explosive on offense. WRs are a dime a dozen. Why pay for one that is too small and has never made an explosive play on offense in six years, not one game breaking play and explosive plays are the only reason you keep a Smurf around. Besides we have a new Smurf that can't make an explosive play on offense name of CJ. McGee has always been overrated by this board as a DB and he is showing a lot of wear and tear and it is time to give Ashton Y playing time. Dump Brohm, and I was one of those hoping he could find it under Chan, a decent vet QB will be available sometime this offseason and I'd grab them to back up Fitz. Hopefully Orton or Shaun Hill. The first, and most important thing, IMHO, is figuring out who needs to get off the bus. Basically the people who are dragging everyone else down. Bills have no shortage of these type of players. Then they need to figure out who they want on the bus. So, the first thing to do is to get the wrong people off the bus and replace them by letting the right people on the bus.
