I believed Gibbs would simplify the offense, the line play would improve and their defense would keep them in games to keep them competitive. I was pretty much banking on the cowboys/giants sucking it up this year(and they have, minus the boys 2 game win streak), and the free agent accusitions of the redskins finally paying off. Shawn Springs has been very good all year. Infact I think he's outplayed former redskin Chump Bailey. Clinton Portis is coming along. Granted not the back he was in denver, but still good. A lot of that can be attributed to bad oline play. Their defense is top notch, most of the year without arrington. So While I was right about their defense keeping them in games. I was wrong about gibbs and the offense. Mark Brunell was horrible, the line is still bad, and while portis has been coming along it hasn't been enough to overcome the porous offense. I think it's still to early to believe the game has passed gibbs by, but he has a lot of work to do to get the redskins to where they want to be. I thought Drew Bledsoe was not the way to go at QB. I thought having 13 Offensive Tackles in training camp was way too many. I thought having ONE Center in training camp was way too few. I thought our offense would not suck coming out of the gate this year as bad as they did all last year. I thought Gibbs' Skins gave Billychick the pattern to use on wide receivers in the big game. I thought the homerun throwup was an illegal forward pass. I thought Ralph Wilson ruined his chances of getting into the HOF when he fired Bill Pollian. I thought John Butler was the best talent drafter the Bills ever had, but most on the wall worship TD. I thought Marcia Brady fumbled late in the 4th Quarter against Oaklawn. I thought most Wallers had a pretty hearty sense of humor. I thought it was a bugger, but it's not. See, I've been wrong a lot. Hey–it doesn't make me a bad person.
