  1. The Bills always need help immediately, that's because they've built their teams terribly throughout this playoff drought. It should be painfully obvious by now that they need a franchise QB. The best way to get a franchise QB is at the top of the draft. So if the Bills aren't at the bottom of the league in the standings, then how are they going to be able to draft at the top? Either by tanking or by having to trade up and give up multiple picks. Guys like Wilson, Prescott and Brady are two few in between as not many lower round QB's workout. Next would be having a solid offensive line that can pass protect something teams like the Patriots, Cowboys and Raiders have. The Raiders have sucked since their last Super Bowl appearance, but they finally built their team right. So the way I look at it, it's either the Bills should suck for a few years like they did in the mid-80's so they can draft at the top of the draft and get some elite players, or they could trade back a time or two, stock pile draft picks either for this year or future years and have the ammo to move up in the draft if there is an elite player available that fits their needs. TBD limits the amount of characters on the title of the thread which is why I listed out the entire question in the poll. From what it sounds like, this years QB class is weak. I don't want to see the Bills draft another Manuel or Losman in the first round. If there is an elite prospect(s) in the draft next year, then the Bills will need all the extra draft picks to move up in the draft without setting the franchise back years with having to give up multiple high round draft picks such as the Redskins did with RG3.
  2. 7 Super Bowl appearances, 5 Super Bowl wins, winning the AFC East almost every single year, if that's not great, then tell me what is great then?
  3. Belichek has traded down numerous times throughout the years and it's worked out great for the Patriots. Maybe you should tell Bill the NFL is not Madden.
  4. I agree 100% about the need for WR, especially with Watkins being injury prone. Teams need to have at least two good WR's, especially if one gets injured.
  5. Why isn't it the message board police 🚨 "Hey, it's been discussed before...you can't discuss it anymore, it's against the rules!!" Get a life loser!
  6. Belichek traded down numerous times throughout the years and it's worked out great for the Patriots.
  7. Looks like he hired some good lawyers on this case.
  8. That's understandable. If the Bills keep having their record stay around the same mark (6-10 - 9-7), they continue to draft between 8-19 which is not high enough in the draft order to get an elite prospect. So if that continues, I'd rather see the Bills have a two or three year plan to stockpile draft picks, that way they don't have to do a Washington Redskins and give up three first round draft picks of their own (or even close to that).
  9. I’m glad to see the Bills do their due diligence on the QB’s in the draft. If the Bills do take a QB in the first round, I hope it’s not another bust like EJ Manuel or JP Losman. If there isn’t a QB worthy of a high round draft pick and the Bills are truly in the market for their “future” QB, IMO, they should move back with teams in the draft, ask for 2018 draft picks instead, that way if the Bills need to trade up in next year’s draft to get a good QB that has the potential to be a franchise QB, they’ll have the assets to do it with instead of sacrificing multiple draft picks of their own. With the Bills drafting at 10, I’m sure they could move down at least twice in this year’s draft.
  10. +1 Mike Schopp on WGR550 is just as bad as these two clowns.
  11. I live in VA. I root for the Ravens when they're not playing the Bills and anyone that plays the Patriots.
  12. We also could have drafted Tom Brady, Drew Brees, Darrell Revis, Haloti Ngata, Clay Matthews, Russell Wilson... I hope the days of the Bills not drafting the right players are over with.
  13. Steve Tasker was recently on the John Murphy Show and said “Bills fans are made up of 90% scar tissue by now." We've all been burned way too many times by this team.
  14. So far McDermott is saying and doing all the right things. That was very classy of him to take the Bills legends out for dinner.
  15. I wouldn't doubt if McDermott drafts defensive players in the first few rounds (ala Wrecks)
  16. That's good to hear that about St. Stans. Good question about the crime in the area. Hopefully that area goes through a rebirth. I haven't been to the Broadway Market since the late 80's. I'd like to go back there on one of my trips back to WNY. Usually, I'll go to Redlinski's by the old Thurway Mall for kielbasa and pierogies. I'd like to go to a Dyngus Day parade one of these years. I see friends of mine post pictures on Facebook, it looks like a good time.
  17. That's cool! It's nice the funeral home gave the local kids jobs. When my grandmother died in 2003, my dad went to one of the funeral homes by St. Stans to get Mass cards in Polish, but the old Polish owners were gone, so he had to go to Kaisertown instead. St. Stans sponsored my grandparents back in the 50's and they all used to go to church there as well. My grandparents eventually bought a house on Titus (off of Sycamore) back in the early 70's. I remember it was still a decent neighborhood in the late 70's/early 80's, then started going downhill. My uncle still lives there. We went over to pick him up last year and the neighborhood is similar to how you described the area around St. Stans. It's a shame to see the neighborhoods in those conditions. I grew up around the Seneca/Cazenovia area and that neighborhood keeps getting worse every time I go up to visit. The days of the homeowners actually living in their houses for the rest of their lives seem to be long gone within certain parts of the city as the new homeowners just rent it out to whoever has the cash.
  18. I never knew about the old Humboldt Pkwy (thanks for the history lesson). I did a google search on the Humboldt Pkwy and found a good article on the long, drawn out construction process of the Kensington Expressway. http://buffalonews.com/2016/05/08/buffalo-know-slow-death-humboldt-parkway-building-33-198-2/ The last time I went to mass at St. Stanislaus church was in the late 80's when we would have a yearly mass said on the anniversary of my grandfather's passing. I would have no clue if the old funeral home where he was laid out is even still there (which I believe was within walking distance of the church). In regards to the Rockpile, I went there once (in 1986) for a Bison's game. I remember Joe DeSa was the Bison's big star back then. DeSa was killed in a car accident that offseason.
  19. Looks like it could be back to the Bills playoff drought average of 6-10/7-9.
  20. Maybe if the Bills had an alumni reunion (like the Sabres had a few years ago), I'd invite him, but other than keeping his name on the wall, I think things should remain the same.
  21. Damn! That must have been when those neighborhoods were still nice. Couldn't imagine doing that these days.
  22. Clements. He was also a great punt returner as well.
  23. Sounds like we're surrounded by idiots.
