  1. +1 Mike Schopp on WGR550 is just as bad as these two clowns.
  2. I live in VA. I root for the Ravens when they're not playing the Bills and anyone that plays the Patriots.
  3. We also could have drafted Tom Brady, Drew Brees, Darrell Revis, Haloti Ngata, Clay Matthews, Russell Wilson... I hope the days of the Bills not drafting the right players are over with.
  4. Steve Tasker was recently on the John Murphy Show and said “Bills fans are made up of 90% scar tissue by now." We've all been burned way too many times by this team.
  5. So far McDermott is saying and doing all the right things. That was very classy of him to take the Bills legends out for dinner.
  6. I wouldn't doubt if McDermott drafts defensive players in the first few rounds (ala Wrecks)
  7. That's good to hear that about St. Stans. Good question about the crime in the area. Hopefully that area goes through a rebirth. I haven't been to the Broadway Market since the late 80's. I'd like to go back there on one of my trips back to WNY. Usually, I'll go to Redlinski's by the old Thurway Mall for kielbasa and pierogies. I'd like to go to a Dyngus Day parade one of these years. I see friends of mine post pictures on Facebook, it looks like a good time.
  8. That's cool! It's nice the funeral home gave the local kids jobs. When my grandmother died in 2003, my dad went to one of the funeral homes by St. Stans to get Mass cards in Polish, but the old Polish owners were gone, so he had to go to Kaisertown instead. St. Stans sponsored my grandparents back in the 50's and they all used to go to church there as well. My grandparents eventually bought a house on Titus (off of Sycamore) back in the early 70's. I remember it was still a decent neighborhood in the late 70's/early 80's, then started going downhill. My uncle still lives there. We went over to pick him up last year and the neighborhood is similar to how you described the area around St. Stans. It's a shame to see the neighborhoods in those conditions. I grew up around the Seneca/Cazenovia area and that neighborhood keeps getting worse every time I go up to visit. The days of the homeowners actually living in their houses for the rest of their lives seem to be long gone within certain parts of the city as the new homeowners just rent it out to whoever has the cash.
  9. I never knew about the old Humboldt Pkwy (thanks for the history lesson). I did a google search on the Humboldt Pkwy and found a good article on the long, drawn out construction process of the Kensington Expressway. http://buffalonews.com/2016/05/08/buffalo-know-slow-death-humboldt-parkway-building-33-198-2/ The last time I went to mass at St. Stanislaus church was in the late 80's when we would have a yearly mass said on the anniversary of my grandfather's passing. I would have no clue if the old funeral home where he was laid out is even still there (which I believe was within walking distance of the church). In regards to the Rockpile, I went there once (in 1986) for a Bison's game. I remember Joe DeSa was the Bison's big star back then. DeSa was killed in a car accident that offseason.
  10. Looks like it could be back to the Bills playoff drought average of 6-10/7-9.
  11. Maybe if the Bills had an alumni reunion (like the Sabres had a few years ago), I'd invite him, but other than keeping his name on the wall, I think things should remain the same.
  12. Damn! That must have been when those neighborhoods were still nice. Couldn't imagine doing that these days.
  13. Clements. He was also a great punt returner as well.
  14. Sounds like we're surrounded by idiots.
  15. Clowns to the left of me, jokers to the right...
  16. I see both positive's and negative's in McDermott's defense. Sounds like McDermott places emphasis on having good LB's. It's been over a decade since the Bills had a great LB corps. When playing against New England, we need a good front seven to generate pressure as well as having players who can jam their WR's and TE's as New England plays the dink-and-dunk game. The Bills need to throw off the timing of the Patriots passing game and make Brady hold onto the ball longer in order to give time to get to Brady. What I am concerned about is playing a zone defense against Brady. Brady carves up zone defenses as he is great at going through his progressions and finding the open man.
  17. I still can't believe that there are people who think there is still a possibility of the Bills moving out of the area. This was all cleared up when The Pegula's bought the team. People either have bad short-term memory or some serious anxiety issues.
  18. The Pegula's have been buying up property around the stadium, so my bet is that the new stadium will be built in Orchard Park.
  19. If the Pegula's tried moving the Bills to Toronto, they would have to sell the Sabres as they are not allowed to own sports franchises in different areas. Between purchasing the Sabres for $190M and investing another $200M in the Harbor Center, do you really think the Pegula's are going to sell the Sabres just to move the Bills to Toronto?
  20. Happy Birthday Terry!
  21. Thanks again Mr. Wilson for everything!
  22. IMO, you've been the most reliable reporter around, especially when it came to the sale of the Bills. You don't rant, rave and complain like others covering the Bills [sullivan, Gleason]. You have nothing to apologize about. Thanks for everything you do covering the Bills.
  23. "Whatcha gonna do brutha..." We're going through growing pains with the Pegula's as they're still trying to figure out how to be successful sports owners. They got duped by Wrecks, so now they're infatuated with McDermott.
