  1. Then you should be smart enough to realize that it's not that simple. Let's say we could add a great QB. He would make the offense more productive. Which would result in more first downs, more time of possession and more points. This would result in less time of possession for the opposing team and less time for them to rack up yards and points. Assuming we could score more points and play with a lead, the opposing team would have to pass the ball, thereby improving our run D and allowing more opportunities for Turnovers. Fitz is mediocre and he turns the ball over too much. Give the Bills a better QB with better accuracy and who does not turn the ball over and the Bills defensive stats would improve. It is all interconnected. Improving the defense and keeping Fitz will not improve the Bills significantly. They need to find a QB. I am in favor of taking a shot with Mallet or Newton at 3 and developing them into our franchise QB. We can address the D-line, LB and OT later in the draft and in Free agency. The one thing that is never available in free agency is a franchise QB. Lets take a shot with Mallett or Newton and hope they are that guy. There is no guarantee that whatever saviour DE you draft at #3 will be the next Bruce Smith anyway.
  2. I hate Fireman Ed I really hate Rex Ryan Let's beat the damn Jets.
  3. If a new stadium ever gets built, I think it will get built somewhere in downtown Buffalo. I cannot see city, county and state leaders agreeing to spend the hundreds of millions of dollars it would cost on a stadium to build it in the middle of nowhere. They will want to use it to "revitalize" downtown Buffalo. Just my opinion.
  4. Wang with Levitre could turn into Wood
  5. Remember last year when Jevan Snead was projected as a 1st rounder when the College season started? He ended up dropping like a rock.
  6. The QB rankings will change as the season goes on. I think Ponder will end up as one of the top 2-3 QB prospects in the draft. I will be surprised if Luck comes out, unless Harbaugh leaves Stanford. Mallett and Ponder will be competing to be the #1 QB in the draft. Just my opinions.
  7. Haplo did not say Mallett is = to Peyton. He said Mallett reminded him of a young Peyton. I actually had the same thought watch the game Saturday. One reason was simply a size comparison. Mallett is very tall and thin and reminded me of Manning under center. The other thing that compared to Manning was the amount of adjustments that Mallett seems to be making at the line and the amount he moved around and gesticulated while under center. I am not saying that Mallett is = to Peyton Manning right now or that he ever will be. I am simply saying that I agree with Haplo. Mallett has similarities to Peyton Manning.
  8. some sort of original thought would be nice, especially when you start a new thread. This has been suggested at least 10 times in other threads I have seen.
  9. I really hate the friggin' Jets. I would love it if they came into RWS and got they butts kicked.
  10. I think they will win on of the next 2 games and go into the Bye week at 1-4
  11. Stop suggesting the Bills will trade Lynch. They do not start a guy one week and then get rid of him the next. Signed, Trent Edwards
  12. That is why I wouldn't care if we go 0-16 this year. I will be pissed if we miss out on another franchise QB by winning 2-3 games.
  13. That shows why Kirwin cannot get a GM job in the NFL
  14. We have to take a QB. I know it is risky, but as Wayne Gretzky said "You miss 100% of the shots you don't take"
  15. I am fine with either. I think both of them have a ton of talent. I have been a little more impressed with Mallett. I think that is mostly because Locker has been playing in very lopsided games whereas Mallett has played against some good teams and has had to face some adversity. Last week, he drove the team for the game winning score in the 4th. This week he threw the game away a little bit. I like both of them and look forward to watching them play out their seasons and perform at the combine and all of that good stuff.
  16. Not gonna happen. We've got the short passes covered pretty well. Trent isn't going to torch anybody with 3 yard passes on 3rd and 12 or running out of bounds on 4th down. If he is starting against the Bills, I will personally guarantee a Bills victory.
  17. I think all of the bolded statements are true.
  18. who cares? Atleast I never have to watch him play for the Bills again. That was painful and depressing.
  19. I really doubt it. I think Trent finishes the year on the bench. I don't beleive the Bills will find anyone who would trade for him and I would be very surprised if they just cut him. My guess is that he plays out the year holding a clipboard and then they let him leave once his contract expires.
  20. no pass rush = very few interceptions because QBs have time to make good throws.
  21. Good teams do to. Like New Orleans yesterday. Just saying.
  22. well, the Bills will have to waste money on some players next year to get to the salary floor.
  23. My understanding is that players in the draft are not actually members of the NFLPA until they are drafted and sign a contract so the Draft is not covered by the CBA. There will be a draft in 2011 and 2012 regardless of whether or not there is a season and I remember someone from the NFL saying that if there was no 2011 season the draft would go on and the draft order would remain that same as it was in 2011.
  24. It is fun watching all of these kids and trying to project how they would look in a Bills Uni. I haven't seen any of Locker's games, so I don't have an opinion on him although it does seem (as someone else already said) that he could be this year's Jevan Snead, dropping from #1 overall to late rounder. I really like what I've seen from Mallett. I was him play a couple times last year and 2x so far this year and I've noticied dramatic improvement especially in terms of game management and maturity. He definitely seemed to stay calmer and seemed to control the offense much better this year. He is going to be fun to watch. I have him as my favorite QB in college right now (not that that means a damn thing). I've seen Luck play twice this year. The first game, he was average. The biggest thing that stuck out to me was his mobility. His team has had both of the games I've seen easily in hand, so I have not gotten a chance to see him under pressure or adversity. He definitely seems to have all of the physical tools. The thing that would concern me is how young he is and his lack of experience. But he is also an exciting prospect.
