I'm not saying by any means that Bray is ready, or that he does not have his issues...But in the 3 Games I've seen of him this year I've seen a TON of dropped passes...A couple that would have been easy TD's...And there is no question he can sling it...I doubt he's ready for the NFL...He needs work and another year in College...But he's not a joke...And he's got a big-league arm...

I'm still VERY high on Geno...And I'm liking the fact that he's starting to look a little human...Maybe he does not go #1 Overall, and The Bills actually get a chance to Draft him...Here's to hoping...

Aaron Williams the worst cb in the league per PFF?
KOKBILLS replied to Damond Talbot's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Just my opinion...But the fact that anyone would have the guts to write that here, let alone that it may very well be true already, is proof positive of how Dareus has underachieved to this point...Marcell still has plenty of time to turn this around...I hope he's got the fire in his belly to do so... -

Well...I understand why Bills Fans would back Dareus over Miller...He's our guy...But if nearly everyone on this board made that decision purely based on play, and impact, then they would simply be idiots... NFL GM's get fired everyday for would-have's and should have's...The record speaks for itself...Go ahead and make excuses...Call it lazy evaluation, though I really don't know how else a GM can be evaluated other than how his Picks pan out, and who he could have Drafted instead...But anyway...It's their job to pick the right guy...If they don't, they don't last...You can call it whatever you want...It is what it is...And 95% of NFL Teams would take Green, Jones, Peterson, Watt, or Smith ahead of Dareus today...Now...Maybe in a couple years that will change...But if not, Nix blew the Pick...Period...And look, Dareus did not lose his Brother last year while he was anchoring a D-Line that was one of the worst in the NFL vs the Run...So please...Nobody wants Marcell Dareus to excel and be a Pro-Bowler more than I do...Nobody...But some of y'all act like the Kids mommy...You don't hold him accountable for his actual play...He's a Professional...He was the #3 overall player in the entire 2011 Draft...He needs to be better...Every game he needs to get better... If you think Dareus has lived up to the #3 overall pick I don't know what to tell you because you're not processing the information available via his actual play on the field ...So it's useless to argue the point... -

Could not disagree more...Sure Green makes Dalton better, but Stevie Johnson is pretty good...He gets open a lot...And Fitz misses him a lot...I'm 100% certain that if given the opportunity Dalton would hit more big plays in this Bills Offense...He would hit more WR's in stride...He would scramble better than Fitz...You name it...He's a 2nd year QB with a career Passer Rating of 83.7 (91.7 so far this Season) and he's still just learning...Fitz had 4 years in the NFL by the time he got his 20th Start, and he still could not get his Passer Rating over 70...Fitz has 1196 more career passing attempts than Dalton...Dalton has 10 more TD's than INT's in 21 Starts...Fitz has 7 more TD's than INT's in 58 Starts...So... -

This is exactly the right point... At the time a Dareus/Williams 1/2 seemed pretty decent...they certainly carried worthy grades based on where they were Drafted...But this is The Buffalo Bills we're talking about...And you have to figure these Kids will underachieve... Dareus has certainly had his moments...BUT... AJ Green, Julio Jones, Patrick Peterson, JJ Watt, Aldon Smith anyone? Good grief those are 5 REALLY good young players...I mean...Those 5 guys figure to be perennial Pro-Bowlers...That hurts... I thought Aaron Williams had turned the corner (no pun intended) late last season when, at times at least, he was The Bills best player on Defense (ok...I admit that is NOT saying much)...But this year it seems he's reverted back to that CB we saw get toasted early on in his Rookie year...If anyone remembers, Williams had one of the worst pre-seasons I've seen in a long time for a CB...He got beat bad early on...Then before he got hurt last year, and a little after, he did not look much better...The thing is, Williams does not appear to have the quick's to keep up with NFL WR's...I think straight line he's OK...But he's not fluid enough...And his critics who said he was better suited at Safety in the NFL are looking pretty smart right now...Now combine that with the obvious fact that The Bills Drafted Williams ahead of Andy Dalton...Dalton may not be perfect...But he's young, big enough, he's a competitor, and he was a HUGE winner in College...The Bills also could have had LB Bruce Carter...I have one friend who is a die-hard Cowboys Fan...He tells me Carter is a future star in the NFL at LB...He's currently 2nd on the Team in Tackles and may be one of the fastest LB's in the NFL (and yes I know about his injury as a Sr...That's why he lasted into the 2nd Round)...Anyway...The big miss was still Dalton... So...once again it looks like The Bills took the wrong guy...When you are looking at Premium Picks only (1st-3rd Rounds), Nix has simply not done good enough...Spiller is definitely a home-run threat...But The Bills still could have Lynch and Jackson at RB, and JPP at DE instead...Troup...Well...You know...Carrington? Umm...Hindsight may very well be 20/20, but sometimes it stings a little more...Like knowing that NaVorro Bowman went 18 Picks after Carrington...Ouch, ouch, ouch...Kelvin Sheppard has certainly not looked like anything spectacular...This years pack (Gilmore, Glenn, and TJ Graham) looks decent now...But how much would any Bills fan gamble that it will look as good next year, and the year after that? It just has not gone that way enough for this Scouting Department for whatever reason... Nix said The Bills would build through the Draft...And he has done well to stick by that claim...The problem is if you are going to do that you have to hit a few home runs in the 1st-3rd Rounds...If you go three years and hit on 6 of those 9 players...now you're REALLY getting somewhere...Right now, of Buddy's nine, only Spiller and Glenn could be called potential home runs...Dareus is a decent Starter, but considering many felt he was the best prospect in the entire 2011 Draft, to this point the argument can be made that he has seriously underachieved...Gilmore looks like he could be a solid Starter at CB, but he's also struggled a bit as a Rookie and looked REAL bad on some plays...He's also looked good on others...You have Williams and Shep who are below average Starters...TJ Graham who looks like he may become a decent 2nd or 3rd WR...Carrington is a back-up DT and FG blocker...Troup is all but done...Not exactly what Buddy planned on with this Scouting Department...Not at all... -
I'm pretty sure it has more to do with Fitz's actual play...More is expected now...Regardless of the Defense... The Defense has been terrible at times...The Bills have HUGE holes there right now...No one could question that...But I think most Fans are not confusing the Bills ability to win now by playing better Defense, with the opinion that Fitz is not good enough...I'll just point to those 6 Passes vs NE and SF where Fitz missed open receivers deep, ...Even in losing efforts, if Fitz was hitting the big plays that are there in this Offense, he could shut everybody up in a half-a-heartbeat... But it really matters not...I'm sure we can pick this argument up again at the end of the Season...

I grew up in LA as HUGE Dodgers and Lakers Fan...Baseball was my sport, so I enjoyed seeing my Boys in Blue win it all in 81, and 88...I was a big-time Magic Johnson Fan...So that era was awesome...I'm also a Michigan Football Fan and of course they shared the 97 Title... But saying all that I've had a hell of a dry spell...And I've always been a bigger Bills Fan than any of my other Teams...So it hurts a little more I guess...
-
Exactly...And they are not very good at SS either... If these Bills were better at the 1st guy bringing the ball carrier down, heck even slowing them down, this Defense would be WAY ahead of where they are now...They make a lot of mistakes on Defense...But to my untrained eye I would say the poor tackling is by far the biggest issue to this point...The yards after initial contact have been massive in the 3 losses especially...Once again we are stuck looking at a Defense that seemingly gets out-physical-ed...And that's mainly due to the fact that they tackle very poorly at times...

Exactly... Some folks still, somehow, seem have it ass backwards around here. Despite what they have obviously seen with their own two eyes...It never ceases to amaze me... -

100% uninformed wishful thinking tells me we will give up the farm for Geno!!! So how's that for hard facts? -
Agreed!

I think Fewell might be the #1 Candidate should the Bills dump Gailey...Which I doubt they will... But someone remind me...Why is Perry Fewell not the DC in Buffalo right now? How is that decision looking now? In hindsight I think Nix and Gailey would have (and should have) begged Fewell to stick around...It's not like anyone was going to give Perry a HC job...The Bills could have made him Asst HC at least...He's most definitely a solid up-and-coming Defensive Coach, and he was FAR more qualified than Edwards...I mean WAY more qualified...And we had him...Beautiful!

Could not possibly agree more! Great Post...

Super Bowl halftime performer will be....
KOKBILLS replied to Just Jack's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
This I would be thrilled with!!! This may very well end up being the thread that tells me who I would like to hang with on this board, and who I would not... RATM and Audioslave over SG?...No thanks...Don't like Rage much because I like actual singers who sing...Audioslave was cool for a side-project...But Soundgarden is epic...One of the greatest Rock Bands in the past 25 years...And that's not just my opinion...But I'm a grunge guy by way of being a metal head... And I would not listen to anything Jay-Z did if it came with a serious cash bonus...Personally I have an inner battle everyday about what I hate more... Rap, Hip Hop, or New Country...But I hate them all...A lot...A real, real, real, lot... -

Seriously? UGH!!! I'm sure she'll roll out Jay-Z too...I'll change the channel thank you very much... They should have asked Soundgarden...hehe -
Agreed...The design is set...He plays at WVU currently...GET HIM!!!

The Rivers bashing here is somewhat laughable...Now I will say this...It is possible at this point that Rivers is on the permanent decline...This is his 9th Season...It happens...BUT...We're talking about a QB with a CAREER 95 QB Rating, and a 2:1 TD to INT ratio...He is light years better than what we have now...Even though he would not be my QB of choice from here on out...Still...Rivers has had a hell of a good 8 NFL years..And assuming he would be better than Fitz in Gailey's Offense is like assuming a bear craps in the woods...It's an easy assumption to make....

Fitz numbers from Sunday per PFF
KOKBILLS replied to cmjoyce113's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
It's funny because way back after Fitz's first year with Gailey...The Edwards year...There were many here who said they wanted Fitz to be the QB because they believed he was going to be just like Drew Brees...He was only going to get better now that he had all this great Coaching...My argument was simple...The Fitz backers were ignoring the evidence they had right in front of them, Fitz's record and stats to that point...So I asked over and over again...What if he does not continue to get better? What if he continues to be who he has been to this point...Up and down and limited? What then? You know what assuming gets you? Well now it's not what if, it's what now? I don't think anyone needed a crystal ball to know this was going to happen with Fitz...Nix and Gailey should have known...I blame them... -
No offense...But if you think most of Fitz mistakes come from play calling I have to question your overall ability to critique the QB position...It's not play calling...It's Fitz...You do realize he's been doing this for a while now don't you?...In the NFL as a Starter...There is evidence...He's Fitz...And he's always going to be Fitz...He will most certainly get hot again...That's what he does...Then he gets cold again...He still can't hit a deep pass...And so on...And so on...
